Just removed the Sedona style side lugs and siped/grooved the rest of the treadblocks, no cut and shut.

Edit: If you want knuckle weight try the 1100s tungsten slug holders from Krazed Builds. You will also need the weight holders from RC Bros.

I still love my ruptures too. I'm glad I went with them after seeing yours many moons ago. Mine are about half worn now and I switched the rears to scorpios that I grooved the hell out of like a pin. They work great in the rear but meh in the front.

My new 2.2 hyrax will be here Friday so we'll see how they do vs the other "normal" crawler tires.

I have the Hyraxs too, grooved and siped of course, I think it's nearly impossible for me not to modify tires. They are still new and not broken in yet, put about two packs through them and I think once they break in a little they will hold their own against any other comp or scale tire out there.

Stock tires suck.

Is there any ribbing on the inside that needs to be dealt with like the jconcepts tires?

I was wondering about this. I have a set of narrowed and siped to hell sedonas but after seeing the Hyrax tires in person I had a feeling they would make a good comp tire. My only concern would be them working on a sub 4lb car.

My rig weighs in at 4.1lbs, I did sand the sidewalls and sidelugs though to soften them a bit.

I also think they need shorter lugs, maybe I'll get out the grinder with the flapdisc and make a big mess.

Travis - you still liking the puller motors? I've been eyeballing the 400 20t crawl (which what I think you have) and just looking for some feedback before I purchase. Thanks

I do like them, supper smooth on start up but I don't have anyone up here that comps or that has 16t or 13t Pullers to compare to. I think they could use a bit more top end but I might try jumping up to 4s and see if that helps which I'm sure it will.
I have the Team edition ones.
