Mine are weighted all around. I used one entire strip of stick on wights per wheel. If you want more flex you can chino mod he leafs too.

When you say a strip of stick on weights, how much is that roughly?? Just not sure which stick on weights you are refering to??

Cheers

I thought that may have been what you meant, was more interested to get from you what the approximate weight of the said strip is.

Cheers

iv got some stuck to a set of rims, so cant see all the numbers, but would very roughly estimate a full stick to be 30-50g (segmented.)

I keep coming back to this thread thinking there would be some discussion on flex issues...all I see is tire weight...thread is mis-labeled IMHO

Agreed it has digressed

Wheel weighting will affect flex though if I'm not mistaken?

More weight in wheels will help pull the suspension down and keep tyres planted whilst suspension / axles articulate to get it all 'flexing'

For an identical suspension setup end result could be quite different on a vehicle with different weight wheels.

Feel free to set me straight though guys ;)

i had just the one leaf on the truck at first but it seemed kinda sloppy, i added the larger "helper" and it sits about right but with even less articulation. i started the thread just to get some feed back from you guys that may have had a tf2 longer then i. thanks for playing along.

IIRC, each strip contains twelve .25oz weights= 3oz per strip.

Thanks johnnyh66

Back onto the flex topic then....

There is a post in the Tips and Tricks thread re improving flex by changing the shape of the bolts which pass through the shackles / spring eyes. Make them more like a ball in the centre rather than just the parallel shank.
TF2 tips and tricks thread

The Chino mod in the spring eyelets aparently works well too to free things up a bit.

I have often wondered whether a piece of nitro fuel line (silicone tube) as bush in there would be any good, but I am as yet to try it out.

Not giving up on the leafs yet, we'll just call it a work in progress.
Have never had a leafed truck so all this is new. Still have a problem with weight in the wheels helping flexibility...doesn't compute for me and my thick old skull
