| Stock Driveshaft Question
We all know the stock driveshafts are a problem and I was wondering if this was a manufacturing problem or did they design them to twist on the spline to prevent damage to your gears? Others have reported that they are the same as the Gelande driveshafts but with lower quality plastics. I am currently using some stock SCX-10 driveshafts and they are holding up just fine. |

Yes the newer 6-spline shaft twist easy then won't telescope, think that's bad the older version was so sloppy on outputs, bind would ussually cause breakage. It's a smart/tactical move, there giving a truck to general public without a clutch,so something has to give, also starts the hop-up process which we all know will overshadow the cost of any truck 3X over. Been using same 6-pack of stampede shafts for 5yrs... Last edited by RiceBurner; 07-08-2012 at 07:27 AM. |

I bought this set, and it seems as the rear shaft is way too long. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-CVD-Kit-SCX10 Anyone have any suggestions? |

Hum that's not good news - I've got those waiting to go on mine too - I read elsewhere that scx shafts were a straight swap ...

Don't even bother fitting the stock ones, order junfacs or the likes the same day you order the truck! Suggest not getting rc4wd shafts as then your lining their pockets for this oversight, just out of principle. |

Thanks for the advice Bill - I thought I'd done that, but now I'm worried I've got the wrong set. There are plenty of Junfac shafts to choose from so I need to get this right without wasting more money. Looking at this page two different length stock shafts are available. Trail Finder 2 Parts - Drivetrain I'm guessing the front and rear stock shafts are different lengths - is that correct? The MIP shafts for the scx10 that K1llerRC and I have bought are both the same length, 105mm at their shortest. If the TF2 stock rear shaft is shorter this would explain his problem. |
