Default Project Offroad WorkForce Dually Pic Heavy

So my TF2 has had a couple light runs on it ( beat my last one to hell and back and have the body to prove it lol ) and ever since it was parked on my trailer. While I initially had intentions of making a truggy out of it ( thank god I didnt ) and I have styrene laying around I figured I'd do something a little different. First change was obviously turning it into a dually which thanks to FATBOYrs10 was the easy part. Not only did he hook me up with a sweet International CXT wrecker he also gave me the wheels which are pin mount old school 4 hole dually rims withe the fronts using small bearings on the inside. To get them to fit the TF2 all I had to do was take a larger drill bit and widen the hole so a crosswrench could fit in. I threw some 1.9 dirt grabbers on the rear and tomahawks up front. Now for my 3rd grade art class styrene skills. I figure the only way to learn is to #### up enough times to learn to do it right. My goal for it is to end up looking like those old Reading work beds that were popular in the 90's. Now that all the talk is out of the way, here is where I stopped at tonight.
Front with new meats and rock bumper gone

Rear with duals and rock bumper gone

Side shot of those sweet ass old school rims that I plan on polishing

Now for the crude 3rd grade styrene work. Basic structure for the box

Ive learned that rectangular rod and channels are your best friend

General idea rear shot

Arches high enough to allow for flex

With floorpan in it sits up by itself and still holds the arches

Rear shot at stopping point. I need to file down the lip on the rear ( effed up and didnt cut it out before I glued it all together)

Thats it for now I plan on getting more in depth with it by either adding panels to the outside or etching the appearance of toolboxes and compartments. Im sure someone else has done this and knows an easy way to give it the look im going for. Thanks for looking at it and I'll be updating it as I go -Art

Thanks! I did a crapton more work to it today and got the box mounted to the frame. I ended up boxing in the bed sides and raised the rear height with another piece of C-channel which gave me a little more room around the fender wells so even at max distortion there will be no rub from the rear tires.

More progress shots got it secured to the frame and now I need to start on the bodywork getting it all cleaned up, detailed and painted.

Thanks! Now I just have to wait on my angle styrene to get here to go around the edges of it to give a cleaner look and hide some of my crappy styrening skills lol

Looks good. you should pick up some of the diamond plate that RC4WD sells and put that on for a realistic finish...
