Default Problem with the 3 link Panhard kit

Hello,

I'm new in this forum and in the scale crawler scene so sorry if i ask stupid questions. And sorry for my bad english!

I have a big problem with the front 3link Kit for my trailfinder 2 as you see on the pics. The panhard link and the steering link has the same length.

rebounded all is wrong. It looks a bit better when the shocks weight loaded.

I hope you understand what i mean and you can see the problem on the pics.

The Kit is new. Never drive it

I hope someone can help me out. Thx

Do you have any larger pictures? These are super small, may just be my app though.

Looking at the pics from your link you have fitted longer travel shocks. Stock length is 70mm, yours look 90mm+ (might just be the picture).

If the above is the case, and as you say mid travel (compressed) they seem correct then that is the answer.

Imagine if you had a shock that could sit there at 70mm, all looks well, then you extend it and extend it and extend it at some point somethings going to be wrong.

Again if the above is the case, either adjust the shocks ride height so it sits at a more realistic height, or limit its internal travel with a spacer.

With the longer shocks you will need a longer panhard bar and steering link....or shorter shocks.

thx a lot for this info. the front shocks are 100mm but on a custom front shocktower with the same holes like the gelände 2 shocktowers.

i try to make longer steering and panhard link.

@northernerbill:

is it possible to calculate the right length for the links?

I wouldn't know how to do it on paper but you could remove the panard bar, refit its ball ends, set the ride height how you want it then measure between the ball ends. That will give you your length.

Note though the more you jack up the ride height of the car you will shorten its wheelbase so it will look wrong from the side.
