Okay here is the deal as of tonight. I have good news and bad. First, the good news is the chassis are here and they look killer. The powder coat is a nice satin finish, and the body panels look great with all the button head screws included. Also, I made a sweet sticker sheet using logo's from Detroit Lockers, J.E. Reel drivelines, Solid Axle, and Off Road Evolution, all giving RCP permission to place their logos on the Wreckluse sticker sheet. The bad news, the skids where not in the boxes and after a quick phone call we found out that they shipped separately. Don't ask me why really lame. They should be here in a few days. We at RCP thank all of you guys for you patients and we will be adding a little surprize for each and everyone of you along with you chassis. Thanks |

Thanx for the update on the chassis. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and I'm still collecting all the parts to put this baby together. I'm in the Air Force stationed in Japan and this is my first ever RC. Anybody know if there are any instructions for assembling the RC4WD R2 tranny with disconnect anywhere? Do I just use the 8tooth pinion that came with it and do I need one of those big 80 something tooth rings?

First, thanks to Reef for the update. melbat1, The R2D comes assembled all you have to do is set up the shift linkage. Several vendors on this board make servo mounts and linkage sets for that tranny. The 8t pinion that comes with the R2 will work but you will be short on wheelspeed unless you use a 27-35 turn motor. Hope this helped. | |

Another update. Some of the build costs were not as expensive as estimated so we will be adjusting the price of the chassis and passing the savings to our customers. The new price will be $229.99. Fear not pre-orderers! We are going to keep the pre-order at the same price for now but those that have already ordered and those that want to still pre-order will receive an RCP Gift Certificate for $50 redeemable through our website. Basically we're making up the price difference and giving you another $20!! This was the best way we could think of for us to show our appreciation for your faith in pre-ordering our product. We should have the hoods and skid plates ready to ship with the chassis by Friday. We will ship the sticker sheets out separately when they arrive so you guys can get started on your builds! I can't wait until you guys get this chassis in your hands, it's weight and size make for a really exciting crawler platform. |
