Just curious what the two ESCs are for and how you control them both? ;)

I can see from the pic in your earlier post(#135) that your passenger wont be needing a seatbelt due to the head restraint (pullpal).

RS-Pro for the motor and B1-R for the winches.

Yep, that monster IS my passenger...! LOL
I need to add a crossbar to the cage to get it out of the passenger area,
but that will have to be welded in later... Running outta time.

you do realize all a winch is, is a brushed motor with a drum attached to it in theory right? Yes there are some gear reductions in there but all they are is electric motors.

An ESC works great as a winch controller! Mine is setup on my radio as a
separate channel with 3 steps, so I have Low, Medium, and High, both In and
Out. Then I have a switch on the rig to pick which winch you want, the front
one or the rear one. You will learn a lot by looking at all the rigs at Axialfest.
Never hesitate to ask questions...!

I couldn't agree more, I'm running a B1R for my winch too. It allows much more control of the winch when you need less line speed during delicate situations. Mine is set up on the right stick so I can operate the line speed and steering with the same stick.

Hey Dean, quick Q, I know the MadDog site says 12V max input for
the Chino63 lights, but have you ever hooked one up to a 4S pack?

i would'nt run a 4 cell to the lights.to much voltage and they already run pretty warm on 3 cell

Yes I have but I don't recommend it. They are designed to run at 12v, anything higher than 12.5v will create a lot more heat and could reduce the life of your light bar.

OK, thanks. That's pretty much what I had figured, so I weighed the options
of running a separate 3S pack for lighting or limiting their voltage to 9V
on a CCBEC. They will be running a tad dim on 9V for this weekends adventure...

No, I understand all that. Just never heard of anyone doing that before, but I've only been into crawling for about 6 months!

I don't even have a winch yet! I knew about the scale looking one's that require a controller, and a servo winch, but I'd never heard of anyone dedicating an ESC and motor to a winch. For me it was just hard to visualize all of the extra electronics fitting in this chassis! I'm picturing a full size 540 motor!

Do you have pics of your chassis all loaded with said electronics? It's very impressive sounding!

You wouldn't happen to be an engineer would you? I couldn't help but notice your drag links, etc. placed nicely across your "Beam Stress and Deflection Tables" book!
