Default Cooked esc

Got my Rs10xt today an managed to burn up the esc in the first twenty minutes (I think it was the esc) only goes forward an with radio on or off an buggy turned off the wheels spin forward full power an with battery unplugged spinning the front wheels forward or reverse the rear wheels spin the same way. Bizzare. My newb question would be are esc motor specific? Thanks guys

the only thing you have to watch is the turn limit on the esc for the motor like some have a 30t limit and some lower. but they (rs10) come stock with i think 70-60 t so you wont hurt any thing with a new esc.

i use the out cry duel esc it has been a good esc for under $50
i run 3s lipo's with it all the time

there are a lot of different esc out there just start looking and find one you like and that is within your budget

try this first

with every thing off ............ turn radio on then turn esc on what does it do any input? might have to turn esc off then on one more time

is the rx-tx still binded ?

Well before it happened there was a puff of smoke. Now with the battery plugged in an the switch off the tires spin forward
Full speed. Without touching the controller. With the radio off even. Than when you turn the power on the wheels stop spinning and the radio on I can only move forwards. No reverse. Sorry should have mentioned that

Yeah, I had the same thing happen, except after the "puff" of smoke, it could only go in reverse. These esc's are cheap. There are a lot of esc's that power this crawler just fine. I'm using the Losi MSC12, I've used Traxxas XL5 waterproof as well. I run twin 55T 540 can motors.

My stock one burned out with the stock battery in a few days.

I was going to warranty it but quickly realized it was not worth it.

Got a Novak Rooster Crawler instead
