Default RS 10 with Some Issues

I have a redcat rs10 with the 380 sized motors first off the rear motor keeps getting stuck ill take it of get it un stuck clean it up blow it out with the compressor re lube it and reinstall it or run across the yard and its stuck again! then i took the motor off again and was looking at it and i noticed the diff is really stiff even on the front diff is stiff too. Is that normal for the diffs to be so stiff? That could be why this motor is having such a hard time im thinking. What do you guys think?

Maybe too tight on the gear mesh? When you put the motor back in place a small strip of paper between the two gears when you tighten the motor down. There should be a small amount of slop in how they play with each other.

BUT, Doc is probably correct. I'm just trying to give you the next step in case his ideas don't pan out. Keep us informed!

P.S. after you tighten the motor, if you rotate a tire just a bit you can remove the paper. Please don't leave it in there.

if all else fails, warranty claim the motor. Redcat is awesome when it comes to warranty claims on their electronics!

Don't waste time on stock motors. I got two 395 Banebots for my sons RS10. He has 8 tooth pinions, 5.5" tall rock crushers, and runs a 8.4v 3300mah battery pack.
Let me tell you this thing is brutal, it much stronger and faster than with the stock 390's. I have yet to see any clodstall or any stall at all for that matter. It is just super stout! I was looking at the 540 kit as a Christmas present for him, but not now. He and I could not be more pleased with the way the truck performs! These are the exact motors:
BaneBots Robot Parts: RS395 Motor - 12V

Hope this helps, I was not looking forward to paying $25.00 for a stock motor. Got these two for $18.00 at the door. Can't beat that!

El phantasmo are you running the stock esc with these motors with no issues? did you have to shorten the shafts, or was it a direct fit?

Still has stock esc, all I had to do was file a flat on the shaft for the grub screw in the pinion to tighten down on. I used the wires and caps off the stock motors.

Same thing happened to me! Do yourself a favor and take the cover off the spur gear. On mine 1 of the screws that hold the spur gear on backed out and was binding up in there. Check it out before it tears apart the gears
