Yeah I don't plan to keep this body on there, just temporary.

Very cool crawler sir. I like the links a lot... Some custom links are up next for mine. I appreciate the ideas.

There are some minor updates. I did the behind the axle mod front and rear to relocate the steering linkage. Not only does it clean up the axles but protects it and prevents hang ups. I also bottomed out the suspension to give me some squat. With the larger tires I can actually roll it upside down lol. Original altered body no longer fits due to the squat so I think I'm going to build a cage or cut up a beetle body.

Squat

Still plenty of articulation

I like your affinity to experimenting! Have you crawled her yet? How does she do?

interesting
please explain " bottomed out the suspension to give me some squat".
what did you do and what do you mean by squat.

some of the gmade shocks have a spring on either side of the piston inside the shock body,
the piston sits at rest somewhere in the middle of the travel and it can travel either up
or down.
thanks

i am currently doing the sba and looking at pics i think he meant that he slid lower shock mounts all the way forward thus squating everything down .

Yep adjusted the shock position on my custom links as well as the position of the top mount with the supplied chassis holes. I trimmed my body a little more to account for the increased suspension drop. Here are some pics...

your rs10 looks sharp, specially the all white scheme
just seems that you do not have much clearance to make it over very broken ground.
several guys have repositioned the skid plate and trimmed the bottom 1/4 (or so) of the chassis
to give more clearance and keep the low profile

Early on in my rs10 career, I experimented with a "droop" setup. Which means at rest, the crawler would sit at roughly the same ride height as you have, and the shocks would be bottomed out. But then as the chassis got high centered, the shocks would extend. the axles would sort of drop to the rocks and keep crawling. It had great characteristics like low cg, and great body clearance since the travel moved AWAY from the body instead of towards it. It had a few downsides too, but looking at your build style, I think you would like it more than your current setup.

Just bought one of these 3 days ago. Nope, I am not an early adapter. It is a hoot. Plenty to think about for mods. I envy the creativity of some of the folks on this forum.
