| My E10 with Integy 2.2 Cage
Hey guys, Im new here and just got into rc crawling. This forum has been a great help so far. I just wanted to share my E10 with the DIY Integy 2.2 Cage that is pretty infamous for $35. I tried searching for someone who has done it and really didnt come up with much, so here are some pics of how it turned out. I was very surprised how it turned out. Everything more or less bolted right up. I just had to remove one little bar to get the battery to fit. But thats it. The torque twisting is eliminated, and i only lost a minimal amount of flex. Let me know what you guys think. |

It's just some HVAC sheet metal from homedepot covered in 4d carbon wrap.

It will preform better with a little less flex, box stock it has to much flex.

Holy Smokes Mike, u are the man!! I've got a new E10 that's been hangin on the wall for over a yr just waitin for a mod like this to surface. I was just bout to pull the trigger on a RS10 XT w/ 4WS but might hold off now. Were there any other costs to get your E10 to where it is now besides the $$ spent for the new chassis? I can't find this chassis for the E10 @ Integy. Do you have their SKU# ?? |

Thanks NorCAl! Here is the link:DIY Steel Roll Cage Tube Frame Chassis for 2.2 Rock Crawler (AX10, WK ... etc.) for R/C or RC - Team Integy The only thing i did to the cage was cut out one of the bars with a dremel. I have it marked in red below. I needed to do this to get the battery to fit in there nicely. But thats it! It went together very easily and nicely. The belly pan with motor and trans attached lined up perfectly with the mounting holes. All of the rods bolted right. You still have alot of articulation with the suspension but it crawls alot nicer. I will be adding 4 wheel steering next. Seems to be a very easy mod as well, and it can be done for around $40 i believe. I couldnt be happier with how it performs now. Below is the bar marked in red that i removed, other than that my 100% stock E10 bolted right up to the 2.2 Cage. All the stock hardware was reused as well. Just get the cage and your set. |

Mike, Does it reduce the torque twist that seems to be a major problem for the E10?

Yes, since it stands the shocks up more than stock it pretty much eliminated it for me. Since these pics I have gone with a droop setup tho, which has brought a little bit of the TT back. Its very minimal, the lower COG benefits out weigh the minimal TT. I also trimmed every other row of tread on the stock tires and added 4 wheel steering, this thing is almost unstoppable now.

Its really not that bad. They are not as pretty as brazing for example. but i have knocked this thing around on the rocks for a couple weeks now and do not have a single broken weld.I will take some pics for you guys and post them so you can see.

Thanks for posting this! After seeing your pics I couldn't resisting buying the frame and switching over my E10. The plastic body posts were beginning to break so the cage will be nice upgrade. Going out for a test drive this weekend after I make a mounting plate for the electronics.

Everything went together smoothly. Took it out for a test last weekend, I think performance improved a bit....until I tore off a front c-hub in the first 5 minutes. Next steps are new c-hubs, better tires, and some wheel wideners. |

Replaced the c-hub and got back out last weekend. This thing is awesome now! I'm thinking of skipping the wideners and putting in some lighter springs and shock oil instead. I was out driving with some Wraiths and I had a "slim" advantage in certain areas with the short axle width.

| Re: My E10 with Integy 2.2 Cage Glad everything went together smoothly. I was impressed how much better it made the truck too. After the pics i removed the springs and then put pen springs on the shaft under and outside of the shock housing. It brought a little TT back but dropped the COG significantly and it crawls amazing. I have still yet to break anything on this truck. I love it.
