I may have to put this on my list of future upgrades.

For best crawling performance, the E10 really needs something to drastically improve it's steering radius. 4 wheel steering is the easiest and cheapest way to do this.

For my first E10 I wanted to keep front steering only. I initially added an overdrive gear to my front axle and did other things to improve my steering like grinding down the stub axle cups and steering stops. Even with this, the steering didn't seem adequate in many crawling situations. I eventually did the XR mod to get a lot more steering angle (expensive, but I'm happy with the end result).

My second E10 was for my son and I decided to do 4 wheel steering to upgrade his. It cost about $25 and I think it turns tighter than my first E10. I haven't used it a lot in crawling situations yet to know the downsides of this compared to front wheel steering, but it's hard to beat the improvement in steering radius for the price and ease of modification.

It has made a huge difference in its turning radius. My plan is to upgrade the TX/RX so I can turn it on & off, along with the cable locker axles I've been looking at online & the air filled tires. Don't know how well the air filled tires work, but for $80 shipped, think I'll give them a try too

air filled tires are a cool concept for rc but not best in performance
