Thanks Jay, I'm glad you like her... I mean it.

I don't know about anybody else, but Petra does it for me... like no competition... always has.

anyway, wife is out of town this weekend so should see some good progress on this. Probably a little complaining from the latter (does she really expect me to work on plumbing this weekend?)

Anyway, funny reading through my initial post, I had a fresh box of bamboo waiting to start this project.... If anyone is familar with some of my previous builds, you'll know that the bamboo is now a bridge.... reading back on this, I can see how easily I chase the next shiny object...

.... maybe I can make some earmuffs with this start???

Sorry for the lame post. lost my wallet last night & didn't sleep well, had a dream I shrunk & was driving around in my rock garden... still trying to figure out if it was a dream come true or a nightmare. anyway, I'm awake & not enough sleep and I have no pictures to post.

Good rule of thumb is too not post before coffee & not post after eggnog.... Breakin' the law.

Did a little more work on this. Weather starting to turn cold, more indoor work.

Thanks. I like you're new little avestar picture thing, it's sexy.

1:9 scale & ready for glitter, I've been trolling eBay for some Gilligan's Island action figures and some saddles. I think if I could find all seven castaways, it would make for a very nice scale unicorn farm scene.

I finished out the top lookout tower last night. Things are starting to come together on this. I have to do the bamboo walls modular like because once I have 4 walls up, it's going to be real tricky to get my hands in there. Same goes for the roof. that will be last.

This should look good next spring with the jungle bridge & my Defender.

If I ever decide to build a timber framed house, I'm hiring you to do the miter work! I've never seen anyone do such nice, clean cuts on a scale building like this.

Thanks, last year, I splurged & bought a Microlux table saw for miniture work. all my other wood shop tools are cheapo's but on this one, I went for the good stuff. It really makes for nice clean accurate cuts.

It also helps that my "timber beams" are 1/4". If I botch one, I just cut another. Unlike real timer frame where a building width spanning beam costs a fortune and justifies only one try to get it right.

On a side note, since I'm the master of high jacking my own threads, there is a high end timber framer near us. They built this timber frame for a winery on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was at one time, the largest salvaged timber frame building in the world. They got Douglas fir logs from the bottom of some lake in Canada. Zero rot because of the depth, cold & lack of oxygen. Anyway, it's a spectacluar building.

That's the plan. They'll go in last, right before the roof.

I've been trying to think of a way to do this without running the risk of setting the entire thing on fire.

Anyway, got a lot done this weekend.

I think this hut needs a (scale) life size cardboard cutout of me in it. It would be the right thing to so since you took my baby picture out of that locket.

We tried that, remember? It was like a beetles concert, chicks went nuts, too much crowd control.
