That is no joke same setup I have in my scaler. What you have in it for gearing? HH says to gear it down to 5:1 to keep temps down. I did that and it was still hot as hell. But than again it was full throttle up the hill in Poinsett !!!! We need to do that again soon so much fun and broken pieces.

I'm running the 4:1 set up Harley recommends, with the 32T pinion and slipper. I have asked for upgraded gears and all the other goodies for Christmas and my birthday. We'll see how I make out.

I'm running 4:1 on the pro4. It gets alot warm. But man what a hand full. Building a scx based scaler running the pro4 at around 5:1 gearing. If you are breaking parts now don't put a pro4 in it. LOL

Well most of the breakage was my own fault I didn't tighten the servo arm as I wanted to give the servo power to make sure it was at 0. So that stripped right away. Then I pulled a front tire out of the beadlock. Guess that wasn't tight enough either.

Um, how tight should the slipper nut be? Should I crank it down?

Mine is cranked down. But I have all metal gears in the trans. I like it that way. Just have to know when to give up and move the rig by hand.LOL

I have the RR stage 3 Slipper with a 11 & 12t pinion that puts me at 5.3:1 & 5:1. I loved the 11t when I was in Poinsett talk about torque and wheel speed loved it till I burnt it up. It was almost round when I pulled it out. Need to upgrade the top shaft so I get more space between the slipper nad the motor plate. I love the control it gives you over the brushless but still has insane wheel speed.

Yep I've got the super shafty top tube. It's tight as hell, but seems to be doing a great job in the trans.

Ummmm yep something wrong get a Hitec 7955, 7954, 7950 and a clamping aluminum servo horn and that shouldn't happen.

If you have one these setups or something really similar then you must be clipping trees wide open to destroy servo's

oh no, it was totally my fault. clipped some bricks around my mailbox jumping the wraith into the yard. Thought I could clear the planter around the mailbox... It looked sweet though.

The second time a buddy was driving the wraith and did the same thing on the shorter side of the planter.

I have another on the way, it'll be here tomorrow morning.

Just in time for some bashing.

Thanks Marcus. I'm gonna mod an old servo in the morning to fit just in case. I pulled two tires out of the beadlocks as well. Already fixed one. I'll get the other one in the morning as well.

It's being planned now Jon. Probably go down late April or beginning of May. Bigger and better than last time. I have some ideas on how to make it more interesting/more fun. My hope is to make this an annual thing, incorporating a night of camping between days. I'd like to double last year's turnout. Maybe even get some of the guys from NC and GA to attend. I'll be starting a thread, either late January or early February. Be on the lookout.

I had a blast a Marcus' place on Saturday. Great meeting Jason, josh and of course Marcus in person.

I had to use Marcus' servo as USPS let me down (again). I broke a tie rod end link right off the bat. Swapped in a new one and kept going. Ran through two packs and my wraith was still standing at the end of the day. I didn't baby it, guess its just a well built rig.

Got some great tips from the guys and felt right at home. Next time out the rig will be set up a little better. I gotta get the electronics moved up front. I lowered it by flipping the link mounts on Saturday night. Much better.

I'll post up some pics later on. Gotta get back to work and make some moola.

Thanks again to Marcus for the invite and lending me a servo. Great group of guys in SC. Can't wait to get up again and do some more crawling.

Cheers!
