I like this idea, I've only been to bald rock a few times and I've been to Dravo countless times
I'll keep a check on the water level though just in case

Anybody prerunning that location is not in our club, b/c he would be training for a triathlon. I went down once to rake leaves and had to walk my butt back out of there and I am not going back unless there is a group competing lol

How accessible is it on crutches? I'm thinking not very good.

If we hold the comp at the location we've been discussing...crutches would be a VERY bad idea. Two healthy legs and feet will still make you question the hike

I was just noticing that we said we would shoot for 9 comps this season. After looking over the calendar I just don't see that happening. We needed to start the season before October...

February has 1 weekend devoted to Valentines Day...so we don't get shot by our significant others and 1 weekend we have a comp.

March has 1 weekend devoted to a comp, but I know I've got several other things going on that month that will keep me from being available.

April has 1 weekend devoted to ECC for some of you and 1 weekend devoted to a comp so it's a busy month.

May has 1 weekend devoted to a comp and that's the end of "THE SEASON", but not necessarily the end of "OUR SEASON".

So maybe we can shoot for the 8 comps by may and drop 2 for our series. Then we can hold a few comps during the summer as we want.

Sounds like a plan...Of course with our current amount of drivers we could hold 2 comps the same day and still be home for lunch

I have to say that I did enjoy when we were having 15+ drivers at our events, but I've also really been enjoying the comps with fewer drivers. I started missing getting to hang out with people at the comp as the day went on when we had that many drivers.

As we've all noticed the comp crawlers have decreased in popularity for quite a few reasons. What I see happening is a full circle back to where RC crawling started. We're starting to see full on custom builds...pieced together with a mixed bag of great parts from various vendors and/or parts made by the builder themselves. Some might call it "getting back to our roots" but in any case I think it's pretty cool to what everyone comes up with.

The new Bully 2 axles make it pretty easy to get started with a PRO rig again. Buy a set of axles, a chassis and links, shocks, electronics, tires and wheels and you're just about ready to go Or you can jump off the slightly taller ledge and go for a set of completely custom built axles and build from there...up to you
