Default B.A.R.T.'s new Beast (SHAFTY)

Got a package in the mail today

Now I have a pile of parts and need to get started on a new Super.

I am still undecided what trany to use. The Maxx diff or the CDW'd axial.

I am going to use the stuffed pig axles I started about a year ago

Be different. Use the maxx diff thingy you got there, it looks about as strong as the axial tranny even with the CDW outputs. Interested to see how those tires work too

That's a good looking Maxx "trans" there.

I'd run the axial.

I'd actually use the diff. A transverse mounted tranny (that came out wrong, stop laughing..) whatever system would be cool and could be useful.

What do you have planned?

Well, I'm thinkin tuber with delrin skid. I want to use the diff/trany () but am worried about the durability. My plate won't fail, just worried about the little inputs and outputs. Far cry form the 8mm I'm used to. The other reason is if it's mounted in the chassis the motorleads will be sticking out of the chassis. I would like to keep the belly of this narrow.

Got my order in from McMaster-Carr. Couple sticks of 5/16 delrin and some 1/4 flat. Let the assembling begin

After some government runs this morning I now have the 1/4" brake line and some more Safety Silv 56 rods. Now is all I need is some time.

What if you use a 1/8 buggy diff? Would that be a bit stronger or no?

I had an idea to to deal with the width problem. If you can find a some sorta gearbox or another diff you can have the motor inline.

This is what I'm thinking for chassis design.

One of my favorite chassis designs. Just a sinister look to it.

Crap chit fudge!

Run into a bit of an oversight on my part. To get the axles to rotate in the same direction(it's kinda nice to have em do that) I will have to put the ring gear on the oposite side of the pig. That's no the hard part. I will NOT be able to assemble/disassemble the thing with my shortened cv shaft design.\/

This is what I have right now. The chassis rough layout is drawn on the table below the components.

As you can see, an 1/8 scale diff would be substantially larger than the Revo diff. I don't feel it would fit with my design.

OK, disregard my ignorance. Under further pondering, and actually performing the deed, it works just fine. I don't no what happened. Maybe I need some liquid knowledge in my system.

AHHHHH, that's better!!!!

Super section? Hadn't seen that yet. Actually I like to hold true to my roots in the TF/MF board. Unless it would benifit people better in the new board.

Dez, the drunk thing comes easy It's the waiting on parts thing that sucks:?
