Thanks Darwin for dropping off the shrink wrap. I hope to get some pics up this evening. It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to lay out the electronics. Since the truck dropped a pound when switching axles I feel like I need to drop weight out of the chassis. Pics coming soon.

Finally got a new camera. I had a hard time figuring out which camera to get and find the best deal on it.

I decased the BRXL's and shrink wrapped them together. I also made a electronics tray out of thin delrin for the twin BRXL's, twin BEC's and the 3S battery.

Next I wanted to get more caster with these axles so I had the tubes turned down to accept the Vanquish 8 degree chub and knuckle. I am not sure on the best way to secure the knuckle to the tube. Either a bolt through both or tap the chub and use set screws.

Here it is somewhat back together. Sure could use some input on best practice on the chub to tube. Also I am needing a source for the tierod cause it is longer than I can get from lunsford.

I just did the 8* on mine...I drilled two 3mm top and bottom of the chub...then did two 4mm on the holes that were already in the chub.
I just used set screws...and dug them into the tube it seems to be holding well after 1 comp and 5-6 practice pack.... mine are on delrin tube though...I'm sure you could do the same on the alum and not have them move...or just dimple the tube where you want the set screws and your for sure not spining the chub then.

I used set screws for my 8* c's, but looks like some one tried to counter sink the c's. Other then that it can still be done either way. Oh, one reason i used set screws was cuz i had play from c's to the tubes. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that sounds like a good route to go.

They are 600's and the track width is 13.75. It is a little bit too wide but I am trying to figure out width versus steering into the lower links and such.

I think I am going to try set screws also

I dont think it will be ready unless I can come up with a tie rod and drag link for it.

Seriously? Well I guess I better go to a hardware store and see what they have. I do have some 1/4 square aluminum rod.

I could ship tomorrow. I dont think it would be there until Sat unless you wanted to pay for express shipping. All I would need is the eye to eye lengths.

Drill and tap! Use plenty of loctite when you put the bolt in.

Looking good Ryan!

Pick up a fresh 10-24 die when you go. I've been running poor man's ti for quite a while with no issues. If it flexes too much, sleeving it with 1/4" stainless and you'll never have problems

Things have been slowly progressing but here it is.
Updated to HPI Blast wheels narrowed down to 1 inch and Vanquish 225 hubs with 7.75 rovers. Set the caster in place and this thing is ready to kill it again.

Taking the next step and dropping more weight. I am hoping to get under 6 pounds but not sure if it is possible with a limited budget. Here I go.

Starters. I had the axle tubes turned down and I will shave down the cases this week. Since I am on a tight budget I will be drilling the gears myself at a friends shop. Hope that turns out good.

Next will be aluminum screws and delrin spacers in the V3 Carbon fibre YTC chassis.
