| $20 Clod Build
Many years ago way back in the 90's A friend of mine bought a Clod Buster. He spent a lot of time and money modding it but he could never get it to work quite right. Always had steering issues and other problems. So it ended up going on a shelf where it sat and sat for over a decade. Every once in a while I would offer him $20 bucks for it just for the hell of it. So fast forward to a couple years ago he finally ended up selling it to another friend, who ended up beating the hell out of it and then throwing it in the closet to be forgotten once again. Well one day I happened to see it and offered him $20 for it and he said ok. So now I have myself a $20 Clod. And whenever I see the friend who originally had it I make sure to remind him I bought his Clod for $20. Anyway this is what I got. Its a Clodzilla 3 chassis, all the electronics were removed except a couple servos but its a good start. |

Had to replace one of the axle tubes but other then that it is solid. This is an up to date pic. Lookin better but still a ways to go. Converted the screws over to hex heads and stainless. Looks much better IMO. I ordered up a couple BTA set-ups not realizing they wouldn't work with my link attachment points so now they are in front. Probably gonna get banged up if I leave them that way. I'll most likely re-do the link mounts at some point. Also picked up a Traxxas ESC and a couple Trinity Speed Gems. Always ran the Speed Gems when I was a Kid so I figured I'd stick with them. |

I'll give ya $50 for it. Seriously though, nice score. Always dug the 'zillas back in the day. Someday, someday... |

Well I wouldn't say easy on the pocket. The initial price was low but Ive put a few bucks into it since then.

Atleast most of the parts for these older rigs are still available and there are so many options when looking for motors, esc etc. I still have my Super Rooster that I'm saving for a Clod, lol ONe of these days I'm going to pick one up.

Nice score!!! Twenty dollar Clods do not come along everyday, if they did I would have a room full. So far I sadly only have three, scratch built lexan chassis, New Era tube chassis, and a Clodzilla 4 chassis... |
