Default Building a Super Hustler

Hello all,

I purchased a Super Hustler from JIA and I am planning on building it up. Here is a list of things to come. I need a little help with a few things. Since I have never messed with a Clod before.

I have a set of stock Clod axles. But I want to beef them up.

Front
RC4WD Axle Tubes
Jp custom knuckles for CVD's
Thundertech CVD's
Thundertech BTA steering
Integy aluminum gear set w/lockers
Adjustable Motor spacer Mounts
Bearings

Rear
RC4WD Axle Tubes
Jp custom knuckles for CVD's
Thundertech CVD's
Integy aluminum gear set w/lockers
Adjustable Motor spacer Mounts
Black Delrin and Aluminum rod ends for Steering links
Bearings

Other things I have coming for it.
Two Mamba Max ESC's
BEC Voltage Regulators
Hyperion 3013 brushless motors
Two JR 8711 servo's
4 Traxxas Big Bore Shocks
Spektrum DX6 radio and ESC

I need adapters for the CVD's to 23mm. I see that there are several oprions out there, but it seems a bit confusing. What do I need to buy, adapters to 23mm. Keep in mind I am using the CVD's. I am getting Axial Beadlocks with Moab XL's on them.

Will these work?

Thanks
Tom

Pics will be coming soon!!

Axial bead locks are 17mm so those won't work.

Wish I could by one from him. Does he have anymore?

I also agree , axial wheels wont hold up to BL power.

It was his Orange Crush Crawler. Far as I know he only had one!!

What Beadlocks will hold up to the Brushless power? I don't really want to drop $250.00 for Aluminum RC4WD beadlocks!!

you can always get the 23mm adaptors and get proline beadlocks, i think these should work on those cvd's, i'll let you know tomorrow when i install the cvd's on one of my clods with the pl beadlocks.

My Prolines are holding up strong.

I used 1/8 scale buggie hexes on my Axials, that and Bender Customs 17mm adapters.

Thank you sir!! Placing my order shortly!!

Thanks for the help on this. I am going to give the Axials a try. If they fail then I get the Pro-Lines.

Did you guys narrow the Pro-lines??

I've been running the axials since the day I built my hustler, it was the second one made ;)

This last weekend I sheared 2 of the pins that hold the adapters to the axles, but I have never spun a hex.

I narrowed mine and Busted's Prolines. Made a huge difference.

Depending on if you want a wider stance or not. I have a set of Bender Adapters that I used once...you could try them.

Thanks for the link. I now know how to narrow them with no problem. That's a messy job!

All parts have been ordered. Just waiting for them to come in. Pics will start rolling soon!

Well started to put a few things together. Here are things so far. After a few steps, the door bell rang. Whoooo Hooo. More stuff!!

I went ahead and ordered new cases. Since I was pretty much building the axles with all aftermarket parts there was no reason to tear the other apart for the cases!

Hyperion Motor

JR 8711 servos and Traxxas Big bore shocks!

Some of the Integy parts.

Close up of the Gears. They are really nice!

I had a Traxxas 3.3 bearing kit laying around. It surprised me that most of the bearings are the same size!

RC4WD axle tubes. He was kind enough to sell me the tubes seperate. Then he sent me all the knuckles too!! These are really nice pieces.

Enough for this post! Check the next post for more!
