for function, metal drive shafts i have GMP and have been pleased, the 3racing ones have had poor reviews) and tyres (i really like prolines). for looks and a bit of function the rear hubs, helps make the rear axle look a little more scale.

I took the CR out to one of the last remaining snow piles but I was not thinking and forgot my camera and it was too far to drive back to get it. Everything is now melted so I'll be hitting up some of the old stomping grounds. I'm also moving pretty soon to Pennsylvania so I'll have to find some locations there.

Looks like I'll be moving to PA for sure. To the place where I took the initial pictures of this thread so long ago. My wife wants to move back closer to her home, she's found a job in PA already and I'm on the cusp of landing a job. I could be in PA within 2 weeks. I'm going to have to search out some more locations to wheel there.

Just read through the whole thread, really sweet deal. Was stuck trying to pick between buying an SCX10 and a CR-01 and this thread made the decision for me! Really great read, really great photos and a really great truck! Hopefully you'll get to give us more updates soon

Thanks! Well, I'm officially moved to PA and fairly settled. Going to be working on a dual use buggy track/crawling zone for my DF03-MS and for the CR-01 soon. I'm working like a mad man though so it may take a while. Still going to get some good new pics and updates to the rig here soon though

went out to the park Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday went lightweight. Non-accessorized body and non-weighted wheels.

Sunday heavyweight, all the gear and weighted wheels.

thanks, got a job that affords me some free time now so, the CR can come off the shelf, and hopefully the other vehicles can too. Been collecting dust for almost 2 years

The old workhorse finally got some new shoes. First time its had new, non-Tamiya rubber since I bought it. Can't wait to try it out, though the first runs will be snow runs since we are thoroughly covered here with another 8 or more inches predicted for tomorrow night.

You will be astounded at the difference. The cliffs aren't too bad, but the the PL's are in another league. I've found that PL memory foam tends to get rock hard in cold weather - something to keep in mind.

The foams did firm up a bit driving over snow. The other thing I noticed since I've never used any Pro-line M3 compound tire is the rubber feels like it has glue all over it. I picked up the truck off my glass top table and you could hear it peeling off lol. Especially after the snow started melting off, it seemed to get really sticky. I set it on a paper towel and it picks up the paper towel with it when I pick up the truck

lol - that's a good thing. They are fantastic on the rocks in the dry. Run them on mine too.

I was going to say, hope you got a run in yesterday, looks like today is out. about 8" out my (work) window already.

I did run it some on the snow yesterday. It had a hard enough layer to ride around on top pretty much.

I went halfway in to work and my boss said we wouldn't open today so I am home.

Great looking CR-01. I have a few projects right now but after I get those done I'm ordering a new CR-01 to build. I just ordered a CC-01 but after than is done I'm saving up for my CR-01 which I have been wanting for the last 2 years.
