Little update...

I passed the first car.

I have to adjust the damper bracket. The rear drive shaft has a little space, so the transmission has a bit to the front due to the addition Dig.

To be continued

After a short pause, I have a small update ...
New Servo 20 kg

the protective battery cover

and the protective cover of the electronics

Today ran a little test. Everything works, but I need the front drive shaft for a little longer.
In front of a large cross inaccurately works.

and a small video ...

První test CR-01 RedBull - YouTube

Hello Carlos46 !

I haven't been there in a while, been pretty busy the last 3 months

Impressive work on the custom chassis, it looks really clean

What's with the Bta Setup, did you have difficulties setting it up ?
What about the offset that give you the junfac wheels ? wasn't it enought to ensure clearance at full lock ?

I looked at your vidéo and saw that you weren't using the Dig on your last set up , is it because of the lenght of your rear drive shaft ?

Besides did you use the original links that came with your Cr01 or did you made some longer ones ? I think your rig could benefit from a longer wheelbase ...

Did you have a chance to weight your homemade rig with the Rctraxx Dig in it ?

Are you making a second version of your chassis, or did you choose to abandon the project and to go back to the Big blue Toyota on your original modified chassis ?

Sorry for asking so many questions, had to make up for the lost time

Keep up the good work !

Hi,
First I must say that the DIG RCTRAX dysfunction. I tried several settings, but always got stuck after a while. Maybe he needs much more space around the correct function, but here I am not in the chassis.
second, so I thought instead use the second digital servo for the rear axle as it yours. But I have an older radio, which does not allow me to control fully a third channel. The new I do not have money.
Thirdly, the problem with the battery. 1300 mAh on the front axle is too little. I lasted for about 8-10 minutes.
Project Redbull I was completely abandoned.
The first decks I wanted to do the least due to good function and shock. But it goes wrong. Original Tamiya gearbox is too big.
I have in mind an idea for a new chassis, bigger and longer. Inside could fit lipo 2200th Other electronics on the axle.
But they still need a better rc transmitter to control the rear axle. Since the CR-01 has poor turning radius.
Maybe to go back sometime in the future or buy a XR-10.

hello Carlos46,

what you say about the RCtraxx dig confirms what i read about it, it is more a "carpet" disconnect unit than a real one i.e not reliable in harsh conditions.

I'm curious about the electronics you are using, because with my setup(35T motor on stock pinions, 2 servos, CC Bec and Rx), i get + 40 mn of runtime on a 1300 mah lipo ...

Making the move to a XR10 would surely bring you more rockcrawling performances but the prices are in another category, compared to the modifications you tried on you CR01.

Maybe time to invest in a new cheap Tx such as a spectrum.

See ya !

UPDATE soo my little fleet.
CR changed the final crawler
After the failure of previous custom crawlers fullframe I did not lose because of course it always attracts me.
I bought a new body and the car began to build on the original chassis.
Actually, I just replaced the original aluminum frame much smaller.
Posted by two plastic struts between the two sides took the floor and psh on electronics. Lines are the new longer upper, lower yet original.
But I intend to make your own moldings.
Dig I threw on my ass and came second servo.
I bought a new radio and my friend's all programmed.
Now, either my car 2WS or 4WS.
For this he once again thank you very much!!!

One of the best crawler conversions I've seen on the CR chassis - great job!
