| The worth of adopting the Junfac Joker Frame for CR-01
Hi Guys!! I' ve opened this thread just to hear other opinions to know if it is really necessary to switch on to the JUNFAC Joker frame for the Tamiya CR-01 for improving the crawler capacity as a moderator of the Scalers and Crawler Italian Forum has told that the CR-01 is useless to improve unless you switch with the frame onto a Junfac Joker Frame designed for the CR-01. Any opinions regarding the matter? I would like to improve the crawler capacity of my CR-01 specially removing the boozed man effect that the CR-01 chassis has on steep slopes possibly without switching to a Junfac frame. Waiting for any comments, hints and tips (we are talkin' of a plain stock CR-01 model) |

Necessary? No. Box stock, the CR is not a comp machine by any means. But there are quite a few mods you can do with the stock chassis and set-up to improve performance significantly. As with any RC truck, it's how much time/effort do you want to spend? There's quite a few trucks here with the stock chassis and loads of mods, and quite a few that have had custom chassis added. Definitely check them out for some ideas. |

Part of the Cr-01's inability is it's lack of a decent tire. After changing my CR-01 Bronco's tires to the 2.2 Super Swampers, and a little forward low weight, I'm pretty happy with it. As far as articulation, I think it has enough if you plan your route through the rocks. Do I wish it turned better, yes. I've not seen the Junfac chassis in action so I can't speak for it's turning ability.

RAceeng18, np at all! I love that vid! And you're absolutely right about changing out the stock Tamiya tires. IMHO, the tires are the weakest link in the cr-01. It made a huge diff for me by cutting star pattern into foam and adding weights. |
