Default Project Benny...Done!

well i am actually making some:

upper link and servo mounts are done

along with making the lower link and shock mount straight

the axles are also shaved

and thanx to toyofast i should have some moose doo on the way to lock these puppies.

and whether i use it or not i am trying to ressurect an old clod body. as you can see it has the vintage chevy grill and tailgate.

the hardest part of fixing will be this. any suggestions from you geniuses out there?

edit: i dont know why the pics are different sizes. sorry.

Good start...

Doesn't look like you shaved the axle housing very much. I can still see the ridges in the plastic You got to make them round! Round from the front to the back!

Do you have a forward only ESC? If you ever plan to use reverse, you might as well shave the whole axle housing

you might try some bondo or JB weld to fill the recess from the hood scoop.

well i am still waiting to find a good pede tranny to put in here and i still need to get tires and wheels. but here is what i have been up to.

sorry for the humongous pics

the chassis mockup as it stands is no where near what i truly want it to be. but i wanted to get an idea of what this thing might look like. i hope to get more progress on it soon. wallet permitting

Heh, I also used cardboard for mocking up! A stiffer and easier solution that is really easy to work with is the white paper board (its like styrofoam sandwhiched between two pieces of paper). Can't think of the name, but any hobby lobby will have it. I bought a huge sheet for $2. I just traced out my design, and then used an exacto knife to cut the the stuff.. Took about 20 minutes to cut it up an git-r-dun.

i used an x-acto also. the cardboard became useless when you cut it with a scissors. thing is i wont be going by that mockup at all.

If you put both the link mounts on top of the axle wont that make the axle roll?

no. because the links are solid bolted to the chassis. i have pondered this somewhat and realized how stupid i was to think that. so no it wont. all the movement it will do is flex.
