Default TLT build "LiL Bitch" (finall encore ending)

Ok I figured I would start a new build up thread. So far I have acheived a 12" wheel base center to center. I won't know thw over all length untill done.

The plan is 2 GD-600s for a 5:1 starting point. The jury is still out on the motor, so a Titen on 6cells is a nice combo. 2 Futaba S3305s for steering and a Novak Rooster because I have one. I am running a 3 channel Futaba so the rear steer will be independent.

clearance from bottom of diff to middle so far.

Side view of mock up so far.

View of extended pinion drives.

GD-600 spur turned down, someone told me to use a file.

Your kidding, I named it that because of the basterdized parts. If the mods want to take it off the title so do it, sorry man.

Aaron of Team Carnage Crew named his 1:1 comp buggy Bastard and his crawler Little Bastard.

I dont think anyone will delete yer title or anything. I just wanted to let you know.

Thats pretty cool, but if I may make a suggestion, move the mounting position of the upper links on the chassis up a way to avoid wicked bad driveshaft binding.

I hear ya, right now it works in static but, as time goes on I do see problems maybe. I am in the prosses of ordering new pinion drives and do an extended CVD drive system using some extended HPI fronts I have right now. . With an extended chassie I should be in the 13" wheelbase area. That will mellow the drive line angle too.

Looks good so far. Why did you choose to mount the links at the same point on the chassis? What kind of links are those? They look smaller than a 1/4".

Also, what tires do you plan on running? If you are going for 13" wheelbase, I would consider running some narrowed Maxx wheels/tires. There is a converter to run them, and with the crazy amount of gearing down you are doing, it would probably be a good combination.

The links I used are 4-40 all thread thru 3/16 stainless tube. I mounted the links like I did for big anti squat, because in the end the truck will have a limit strap in the center of the diff. The suspension once dialed in with springs will ride about 1/4" or a little more in the shock to keep the uppers level at full extension.
The idea is to create some forced articulation and limit up travel a little to help carry the middle over breakover points on climbs and bigger obsticals.

I am going to run masher 2,s on narrowed pede fronts. I am going to mess with a narrowed layered foams. Back when I raced trucks we where making our own before they were offerd. I some experence with dialing in tires. If I thought the axles would take it, a bigger tire would be nice. I might have to stick to 12" wheel base, who knows. I am trying to get 5+ inches out of a masher 2.

When I mounted some tires and rims I had off of the hpi/mt crawler I noticed the tire would hit the shocks at full compression. I thought oh well I will get extenters and be done ,then it hit me. This is what I did, I used a HPI/MT rear outer drive and took a stock tlt cantilever bushing and come up with this.

With the longer drives and the bushing shim and bearings it fits like a glove, combined with a spacer you get just shy of 3/16" on each side for a 3/8" overall track width gain. Here is a pic compared to stock.

This is what I came up with so far.

Overall veiw from side.

With body, might have to add a tad more wheel base. What do you all think??

Awesome trick there! Truck looks good, and you have some very nice clearance. I think the wheelbase is fine as well, especially once you sit the body down, it'll look that much better.

Yup, nice wheelbase. And its good to see that your being different, not running a Bronco body like alot are... way to mix things up a bit

Well I recieved my servos and esc today and the other GD-600.
I went with these...

Now I can figure out my high steer idea, I also had to take the HPI drives and shorten the cup about 1mm. Now when turned they nest into the indent on the axle behind the ball real nice.

I also bent up chassie extenders, they will extend and box in the chassie. It will give a lower battery placement and a simple and strong body pin placement. I can now mount the shocks straight up from center of the axles. I will have pics when done with the chassie before radio gear. [/img]

Looks great. I'm doing the "scale" thing with TLT axles also but I'm using a Bronco body...there needs to be more of them out there. My wheel base is only 11 3/8". Chassis and trans will be custom.

The mashers work great, they just ware fast. Her is a pic on narrowed pede fronts and narrowed and taller foams.

Great job on the tire/wheel. I've got a set of tires that I want to narrow but I need to muster up a bit of courage first

how much did you narrow those rims? I have got the same tire on narrowed rpm clawz, narrowed by just cutting off the inside bead
