Default Float ST Lighter lower and simpler

I can not remember the last time I posted tech. So I thought I would post up some pix of my latest 2.2. The Idea behind this truck is to put a backbone like my unlimited flex clod and keep everything as low as possible. I am happy with this prototype but I alread have carbon fiber pan chassis plans for the parts so this chassis will probably only see one comp this weekend.
Please note the KICK A$$ steering by AZvader.

No springs or shocks on this one(this truck is silly light!). My last 2.2 had fully active suspension off the third channel, and I wanted to go back to my float suspension and see what it does on a shafty. My original float truck was a clod with knuckle packs(I loved the way that truck drove). I am encuraged with this design and love that the torque in the system rarely travels from the rear axle to the front its only when the chassis will not allow anymore movement.

The carbon fiber pan chassis design for next comp will have two very small springs on the same side like a kevins patented crawler store stick.

Looking at the over head shots reminded me that you do not have to run the 11.1 volt lipo. A six cell sub c pack fits in the same location perfectly...or you can strap the pack to the side of the stick just as easily. The kokom 7.2volt lipo can even strap right up under the backbone to attain a very nicely balanced chassis indeed.

Default Not Another Grover Chassis !!!!!

We're crawling against THAT Sunday !!!! No shocks now and how about the CG, any lower and your driving a submarine. The PARC 2.2 class just got a little tougher.

I'm glad the BTA steering transfered over.

Yeah, it's a submarine and undefeated.

If you thought Grover's last design was the next big thing in TLT's, wait until this one is done.

Keep us posted.

This truck performed amazingly well at our comp yesterday. The performance is unbelievable! Great job on the build and the winning drive Chad.

Default this is a design I have never seen in a crawler

The pan chassis design has been finalized, and I think it has some unique features. It is a float then lock design w/o any links at all and the battery is mounted where the front servo is usually mounted. With the revolver motor the cg when useing an AE or Losi tranny will be as low as the float prototype you see in this thread with an inch more breakover in the center of the chassis. The build will be posted here in this thread.

Chad-

All the small prototyping has been completed and the build day confirmed with kevin(towmarow). The new chassis will be fabbed up and if all goes as planned the truck/build should be posted up monday.

Chad.... I'm sorry to tell you but this rig can not be ran at any of the ORCRC comps due to fear of others loosing Can't wait to see your stuff in action up here on the water covered rocks.

I am so excited to crawl with you all(love the trucks and the vids) and meet the charactors behind the builds. I need waterproofing 101 classes before July!

Classes are held on Sundays(about 10am) and Wednesdays(after 6pm). No fees are involved, they are free classes. Just be carefull of the Hackster, he likes to push you into the drink often

Did some prototyping in fiberglass and found some minor rubbing in the first chassis and to much flex. The second chassis was not as elegant but the spacing for the components worked well. I will try to get it up and running for the comp on the fourth. I am glad I did not pay for carbon fiber yet...but you know what they say third times a charm.

You can see the added break over in the second picture. The first picture shows the slightly higher battery location that offords the lipo much better protection. The last picture shows the electronics layout and the pivot mech.

The pan crawler should be done in carbon fiber for WEROCK.
