Ok, I have the drive train mocked up. The slider will be operated by a micro servo. The pilow blocks will be machined from black delrin to support the drive shafts. I also geared the tranny with a 12 tooth pinion and an 87tooth spur, I have a 96tooth if need be.

I tried it out today, the micro servo I have feels about the same as a 48 oz in futaba standard servo, and it would pull my revo sliders ok. These shafts seem like they slip in alot easier. But if it doesnt work I have a half dozen Tower Pro mg 955's sitting around that I know will make it budge, I'm just trying to keep the weight down low, and since this servo is going on the back bone a micro servo just fits perfect.

here's an idea if your micro servo isn't strong enough for some reason. Mount a standard servo on the axle inline with the backbone, then run a linkage from the servo to your slider. That way it won't hurt your COG as badly as mounting it on the backbone.

Honestly though, I think that setup should work very well exactly how it is. Especially with the driveshaft held stationary like that.

Alright, today I got the tranny locked up, I locked the slipper and the dif. Then I got the pede yolks adapted to the stealth outdrives. Then I installed the tranny and did the driveshafts. All thats left on the drivetrain is to make the pillow blocks and the slider. I threw some electronics in it when I got home just to see how it was working, I have now learned that the most important thing with a torsion is weight distrabution. So I am going to run those big ugly c cells that I like so much and put some weight in the back. Surprizingly the 65 turn motor I threw in there felt pretty good, I figured it would be to slow, might run it for a while, or a 55t. Anyway the breakover angle is unreal. I was climbing the steps in front of the house with it, the only failure I had was I cut my front driveshaft down to short and it poped out a few times, but that will be fixed with a longer spline engagement.

Since it was to dark out to get any video I risked life and limb for a quick shot at some mattress crawling, its got better groung clearance than the Imperial does......... by about an inch, not counting the links that are even lower.
