| Xtreme RC Racing Proto TLT Chassis
Well after some looking around on the site, I have gone and done it, I ordered myself a new TLT. I also wanted a RC4WD transmission so I got one of those also, LOL. I also decided if I was going to do this and go have a little fun on the rocks I was going to need a chassis so I did a little CAD work and this is what I came up with. This is just the prototype chassis for myself so I will have to order some more parts and see how it works. Let me know what you think. |

This one is just G10 but once I figure this one out my other one will be carbon fiber.

| At least you won't run out of mounting positions. That does not sound right, seriously though it looks very clean, super job. |

great looking chassis. Are you going to run a bottom skid to cover that R2?

Thanks for the comments. I will make something for the tranny, just not sure what or how I am going to do it. Here is a question for everybody that knows the rules better than me. Since I am building this chassis to look a little like a tuber I dont want to run a body on it. Can I do this? I know local rules may say yes or no but I want a general rule overall would say. Since it is not a true tuber chassis and little bit more than a normal chassis, I think I will call it "Platapus" |

As it is NOT a tube chassis, it will have to run a body to be in compliance w/ the rules. Once again very nice chassis. |

this just sucks, LOL. I have to find a body to cut up now and add some body post. I was wanting to get rid of that stuff.

Try to use a small body like the HPI VW or the Pro Line Crowd Pleazer for the Jato.

Very slick looking chassis. I read that link to the rules but was wondering for a tuber to be considered a tuber does it also have to actually be made of tubing? Some people use solid rod and I have thought of making a chassis out of flat aluminum sheet that was cut out to look like a tuber chassis but the chassis bars would be square like square tubing and solid . Lastly for body panels on a tuber has anyone ever thought to use the film they use on airplanes to fill in the body panel? (it is easy to get, very light and comes in many colors and all you have to do is glue it on and heat shrink it a bit and trim) |

TUBER RULES : -2.2 class tube chassis are allowed with the following restrictions. Chassis must be at least 8"long, 3"wide, and 3.75"tall, the roof must be raised from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit, and it must have solid hood, roof and sidepanels. -Supercrawler class tube chassis are allowed with the following restrictions. Chassis must be at least 12"long, 3"wide, and 3.75"tall, the roof must be raised from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit, and it must have solid hood, roof and sidepanels. I think the square "tubing" would be allowed, not sure about the covering for the panels. Last edited by dezfan; 01-21-2007 at 05:22 PM. |

sounds like I can bend the rules and add a solid hood and side panels and it would class as a tuber? It has a raised cab and roof. Not sure yet, just an idea.

I guess it would depend on the rules committee's definition of solid. Quote:
