hey, dont doubt a dremel. its all i have with a dremel drill press attachment and a couple of the bit kits and im amazed at what ive done with it! although the cut off discs dont last long when cutting alum, it is quite capable. i used it to make these: TXT Axle Servo Mounts although they were off a bit thats my fault, although with better equipment it would have been easier and quicker |

Nimh do not get memory. So you don't have to discharge them after every use. But it is still a good idea to fully discharge them about every tenth run or so. As rockwerks said, The more mAh the more run time.

I have a can of spray dry silicone, does anyone know if this will work as a lube for diffs and tranny etc? I would test it but I don't want it to start eating the plastic or something. thanks, Mike |

Ok, another one I couldn't find... what is the difference between a 55t and a 75t lathe motor? Does that stand for turns? Does more turns equal more torque? Thank you everybody for all your help. Mike |

you got it. the t is for turns, the higher the turns the more the torque and the lower the speed.........so ita a fine line........some times you need a little wheel speed

It's a long and blindless road but you will get there, no worries. Just keep telling yourself - 'this is a hobby, I'm having fun' - because the trip from knowing very little to being able to build your own custom tubed, scaled rig is the fun in it!

Hey Retro, a word of warning. DONT buy an EVX from Novak/Traxxas. I've had mine only about three months and have ran it only about eight times and it smoked on me this week for no reason. I had just set up my TXT with one motor, a GD 600 and alot of other goodies and decided to reprogram my EVX to run full power in reverse. Well when I did that it died, and thats not the first time that one of those has done that from what I hear......$100 down the drain

| a quick update
I got the TXT and built it completely stock to get a feel for it, ran it like that for a few days and now have started to mod it. Mods completed so far... swapped suspension arms to extend wheelbase revo shafts 55t lathe motor 12t pinion Mods coming soon... Super Rooster esc in mail move servos to top of axles install proline beadlocks and 40 series moabs (waiting on hex adapters) savage shocks cut chassis Here is my problem though...after extending the wheel base the torque twist seemed to get ten times worse. Is this just suspension geometry? I tried moving the stock shocks to a solid axle-to-frame mount and it helped the torque twist but severely limited my suspension articulation (shocks not tall enough??) will the savage shocks mounted in the same axle-to-frame manner solve this? Any other suggestions? Thanks, Mike |
