Either that, or just drop the battery onto the front axle or next to the tranny if he hasnt done it already.

The battery is still in the stock position...I know, I know its a horrible location for crawling but I want to wait until I get my servos moved to the axles to move the battery around. The issue I have is that all I did was extend the wheel base and the torque twist got alot worse, it was tolerable before but now its really bad, will the savage shocks help? or do I need to rework the suspension geometry?

Any recommendations on batteries?
Will these work or is the voltage too high?

Great Planes 7-Cell 8.4V 2/3A 1100mAh NiMH

I would love to have them set up like that...the only problem is 1. I dont have a soldering gun and 2. I dont know how to solder.
That pretty much leaves me to pre assembled packs. :-(

I had the same problem with mine. Using Savage shocks seems to increase the twist. You really need to get the shocks mounted above the chassis to help with that. Also, use heavier oil (80W) and heavier springs (Black) on the Front Left and Right Rear, to combat it. Mine has very little twist now.

The torque twist INCREASED with savage shocks? I would think that eliminating the cantilever system by mounting savage shocks in a axle-to-chassis configuration would reduce torque twist not increase it...right?:?

What I think happens is the Savage shocks, being so long, make for a high center of gravity. That causes the chassis to flop. Check out my thread when I was building mine. Before and after. You can see that by getting the top of the shocks above the chassis you lower the CG. My next move is removing the bottom of the chassis to get more Ground Clearance.

Building a TXT Rock Climber and running into problems

Good Luck

That is the plan, I just thought you were saying the shocks themselves caused more torque twist.
