got some new "shoes" for "c3po"...........did some other stuff too. post pics during the day later on. got it running to see how it does........not too bad, articulates like hell. i know this for a fact........i will never go back to 4 link again, unless in a scaler.

ok, got some pics of c3po..............put some new feet on him and got the batteries done, intellect 3800's sub c's. total of 13 cells, 8 for the motor and 5 for the receiver. he's got some balls now. gonna try it out on sunday at our small gtg. only thing left is to paint the body and mount it............oh yeah, mount some moab xl'x (thanks y.v.;) ). hope you like the progress so far, thanks............................................ . here he is next to his little brother............r2d2................. .. |

dtp..............you like my big lug nuts, huh . made some extensions for the clod axle stubs because the txt stubs are hard to find. made them out of 1/4" x 2 1/2" steel bolts. cut the length i needed to fit and tapped the other end to the size of the axle stub. i had to drill out the center of the adapter to 1/4" to receive the extension. seems like with the extension and the tight fit of the adapter, the stub has alittle more support. now i have to carry around a ground down 7/16" socket for the nut holding the wheel on......................sorry the pics are kinda blurry, alittle too close.................................. |

finally got him done! painted the body today, changed out the esc from a rebel 2 to a super rooster, and changed some small items. took it out yesterday to try him out...........not too bad, just got to get used to of 4 wheel steer. but he sure can climb like a bat out of hell! now he's ready for this weekend's comp (hopefully i am too ). just like to say thanks to young version, DTP, and shut d's for all the help and info. hope you guys like it, now r2d2 and c3po are together again........................ here's the two guys cruising with each other in the sun................ |
