Nah I'm just kidding, I didn't do anything. But I'm going to open up one of the axles because it doesn't roll as freely as the other one. At that point in time I'm going to open the thread with that dig mod and check it all out.

Don was the guy who made that thread? Any idea?

I just took my tight axle apart, I needed to remove a shim on one side.

I also sized up the RC18 spring to the gear for the dig mod. I'm not liking what I see. If I cut the spring the end will get stuck in a gear tooth. The spring is pretty much a larger diameter than the gear. I could do a large washer or something for it to sit on maybe. Or have it face the other direction. Or find a smaller diameter spring. I'm not sure. I don't really like the idea of doing away with that center bearing. It likely takes the majority of the load, and that's why Tamiya has a nearly worthless tiny bronze bushing on the other side of the bevel gear, which would now have to take all the stress.

So I bolted the axle back together. I might look into a driveshaft disconnect, or RC4WD R2D tranny (which I have one), or ditch the idea altogether. Or not. Or do 4WS.

just use EPP, it is the Transmission cure for everything.
