I think your truck rocks.

I also think you will like your trany clocked and the fact that your motor is so low. I've been running mine that way for three months. the only thing I found with mine is the front revo shaft hits the motor when the drivers front tire is up at full ark. So I exstended my front out put shaft 1 inch. But I am running a 60/40 split with a 17 inch wheel base.

On the bett location, Have you thought about putting it on the front axle?
I run mine threr and it realy helps keep the weight low.

My truck was built by WRMorrison. I did the output exstention and the 60/40 split.

Nice driveshaft extension! I like the batteries being on the front axle too. Thats pretty sweet. I'm probably just gonna leave it for now, until i get bored one day. I didnt run into any problems with the shafts hitting anything but it comes close. I got about 2mm to spare compressed.

as usual im learning ... keep it coming, thanks!

btw, what happens when you mount the motor on the other slot? also, is there a possibility for re-mounting the gd-600 in a different orientation without affecting the performance you guys envisioned?

You can mount the motor in either of the 2 sides of the motor plate, depending on your preference. If you decided to clock the tranny, you would most likely want use the the lower of the 2 possible mounts (depending on which way you actually rotate the tranny), for a lower center of gravity.

You can remount the gd-600 in any orientation you want, basically. I did mine based on the lowest possible motor position after i rotated the tranny. All you do is re-drill new holes in the motor plate for the orientation you want (be careful of proper gear mesh). The only other thing you have to watch is the 3 screws that hold the motor plate onto the tranny. You don't want to block one. Or, if you do, make sure you block it in a way that you can drill a hole through the gd-600's plastic to get that 3rd screw in with some needle nose pliers or something. (the 4th screw for the gear shaft can be blocked since you leave the gear shaft & screw permanently attached to the motor plate and screw it in from the other side of the tranny.)

It's been a while since I've been on here, so I figured I'd check in and post a few pics. Since the last post, I've painted everything black with flat rustoleum, (which some will get scratched off, but thats kinda the point since the body is black and silver), painted the commandos with window tint to 'smoke' the chrome & rustoleum on the rings. Finally took some pics while out on the rocks instead of just the living room.... I had no idea there were rocks like this less than 5mi from my place in the Los Angeles area (Im new here), so this is where I'll be spending most of my free time.....

how big of a difference did you see when you lowered the motor? i considered clocking mine to lower it, just wondering if its worth the effort.

It made more of a difference than I thought it would. Since it's one of the heavier components in the chassis, every little bit helps. The best way I can describe it, is, with the lower motor there are alot more of the "OOOOH, that SHOULD have gone over" moments. Off camber it seems to want to slide sideways more than just dump-over like it use to.
I guess it all depends on how low you can actually get it. I'm actually keeping an eye on it to see if i snag it on the rocks, its not much higher than the lower link when the suspension's compressed on that side.
