Picked up this XC roller a few days ago, and just left toy-r-us about an hour ago with a shiny new Nikko FJ Cruiser Specs so far: XC Chassis, Front diff locked. SCX-10 Beadlocks. RC4WD Creepers. Ball bearing steering kit on the way. More aluminum upgrades planned. Body is not mounted yet, just sitting on top. YELLOW FJ FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Pulled the FJ off the shelf a couple nights ago. Been working on the rear links. Also just put in an order to rc4wd for: 1.55 Stompers 1.55 White Steelies 80t crawler motor - See if this slows it down enough... probably not lol. Heres the new lower links. Axle link/shock mount isnt quite finished, still going to angle the forward edge upwards to help with sliding over objects. Top links aren't 100% either. Bottom view. Side view of new found clearance under links. |

Body mounts are done for the most part, front just needs a little something to help hold it once clipped in. Servo mounts mounted to the tub are notched to accept the aluminum. Servo mounts bolted to the aluminum keep the body centered. Rear mount, simple hinge system for easier battery changes and whatnot. |

I wasnt going to post this up, but incase someone else were to view my thread and try to mount the body the same i wanted them to be aware of what will happen. The front body mounts flexed alot under the hood causing a couple cracks in the hood. My Remedy, a couple braces connecting the other 2 front bumper mounts, really stiffens the whole front of the body up. Looks like it has a paint job in its future after this happened. |

It's lookin good! Nice work with the rear suspension set up. Are those RC4WD dual spring shocks? What springs are you using in place of the dual spring set up? |

Was having trouble with the body sliding forward and coming unclipped from the mounts. So I came up with this, and it works pretty dang good. Metal clothes hanger works good. Hooks right around the spacer and holds the body tight under the servo clips |

Thanks for the photos on where to trim up the tub for the reduction. I am considering one myself, but have never driven a rig with one installed; so although I understand what they do... at the same time, I dont! Id like to hear your feedback once youve had a chance to drive it! |

I tested it just on the floor and it slowed it down to a nice speed, but torque still seems to be lacking so im gonna try an integy motor before going with more reduction. These rc4wd can motors havent been impressing me so im going to blame it for now.

Thanks! Im running an Integy 45t with a Tekin FXR on a 3c Lipo and it reaches a nice quick speed for the open trail, and has great torque as well. I mention this for your consideration when you pick up an Integy motor. Im not sure I 'need' as much speed as it offers. Thats why Im considering going the reduction route you have taken. |
