| It looks good. I would stick with foams though for the tires. Using air causes a bouncy affect on the ride. Not as predictable as with foams. I vent my wheels so that the tires can flex more as they push the air out, just a thought. |

| i have all my other wheels vented to let the foam do it's thing. these rims i plan on using on a rig that will tow my heavy trailer/crawler, so i dont want to vent them. they will need to hold air with all that weight i think. i'm just experimenting with air for now. we'll see what comes of it. |

It's looking great bro! I agree with the 1.5 dirt grabbers especially if you're going for the "scale" look |

| got a sweet lot of links from another forum. gonna use them on lots of builds, but pertaining to this build i'm re-doing the 4-link. it will be a bit longer wheelbase to match the body better. it will look fantastic with 1.55 tires. IMAG0010 by heinie_21, on Flickr didn't have matching colored links haha. but they're upper links so you can't see them. IMAG0011 by heinie_21, on Flickr also swapped to the steelies IMAG0012 by heinie_21, on Flickr Last edited by heinie_21; 11-23-2011 at 01:42 AM. |

Got a couple videos of the ol' CC-01 FJ-Cruiser in action!! the first one is from a while ago. lots of things have been changed on it since then, but it's still a fun little clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-wV..._order&list=UL the second one is from tonight. i was messing around doing some indoor crawling and actually found that the cc-01 with dirt grabbers or "bfg all-terrains" could climb a slope exactly as steep as my Jeep YJ SCX-10 on 1.9 Pitbulls could! they would loose balance before they lost traction. pretty cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_Pm...e_gdata_player Last edited by heinie_21; 12-31-2011 at 09:37 PM. |

finally got some scale replicas of my favorite 1:1 tires (see first pic on page one) had to order them from spain. they are amazing. WAY better looking than tomahawks. i got them form sdi4x4.com they have some sweet scale stuff. check them out. the owner is very helpful as well. i saw they have some wheels that you can chose the offset. they dont use hexes, just the pins, so you can have a "dish" shaped wheel and still suck in the offset. not sure if that makes sense. but i like them. here's some pics! notice how the wheels keep the tires tucked in the wheel wells also swapped up the 4-link setup. it flexes great now but the axle shifts from side to side. i need to figure out a better link geometry. here's a shot from above of how the SDI negative offset wheels keep the tires in the wheel wells better than my HPI stock car wheels got a spare too, but DANG it's huge lol the tires hook up pretty good too! not quite as good as rc4wd x3 compound, but good enough for what this little guy does here's some action pics oh and just for kicks i put this body on my WAY shortened scx-10 chassis (for a tamiya YJ) looks a little out of proportion! |

there are companies that make link kits (i almost wish i would have just bought links, because it's been a pain trying to figure out my own link geometry) cc-01 4-link by junfac i traded for some 1.55 black steelies and desert king tires because they're about a scale ~35" tire. they looked much better than my dirt grabbers which are ~38". it looked really good with 35"s and 15" rim, but i lost too much performance. but these SDI scale doctors are a scale ~36". kinda a happy medium IMO. they look very scale because of theyre a great replica, and they perform pretty good still too. thanks for looking and for the suggestions! | |

Hey mate looks good, the Sdi wheels are good for getting the look, the only downside to them is if glueing the tyres you need to get them weighted and have the right foam setup from tge get go. Did you choose the -3 or -5 offsets. When i get a hold of a fj body im looking at doing a build myself. I have both offsets tucked away for such a build. How also are the Sdi tyres for stickiness? My funds at the time i baught the wheeks didnt extend to tyres at the time. By the way top looking build too. Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk |

thanks minicrawler1! the shocks are stock scx-10 shocks. the rig is so light and short that the shocks barely compressed at all so i took most of the oil and took off the spings.
