Been waiting for a pile of parts...got all in but one. Bunch of aluminum goodies for the front and 2 set of Junfac shocks.

Wahoo!

Wild Dagger arms, TA02 knuckles and C's, and 103mm shocks. I looked high and low for a body to fit this rig,and found a pretty good one that I thought might work. Of course, that didn't work out at all, so I picked up a Buggy Champ body with fingers crossed and started hacking. Think it'll work with some serious mods. Good to keep it in the family too.

All mocked up really, just getting a feel for it. Liking it so far! Still waiting on a few odds and ends so I can assemble it for real and get busy with suspension mounts and body work.

Too cool man! You need to send some of these pics to Tamiya and let them know what's up.

They are too busy building Landfreeders. It is on the Tamiyusa forums though.

Doesn't look like much, but got the drivetrain, steering, and front suspension on finally. 35t motor though an HPI GRU, and a 19t pinion. Some Axial shock hoops left over from my Honcho worked out perfect, though not sure if they are going to stay or not. Still working on shocks, not 100% sure what I want to do yet. Picking away at it between summer projects.

Defenetiely digging your wild build. I like you have a stable of cc01s great little chassis that's fun to modify and surprisingly can be built to handle more than people give them credit for. Keep up the good work.

Getting there - took a bit of a break - had "builders block" on the 2.2 with the suspension. Letting it digest for a bit.

Been a while since I updated this one. Got stuck for a bit, and with any project where there's a "mental block," put it off to the side and let your subconscious chew on it. Eventually you'll see things more clearly. I was very much stuck on the suspension bits here. So anyway, came back to this with a fresh mind and went on a tear!

Finally got the front buttoned up. I had all kinds of binding as the suspension parts were now swinging in much greater arcs than they were before. I ground flush the bottom of the GPM steering arms and put a bend in the linkages to clear, and finally got smooth travel and full steering. Had to add a few spacers on the knuckles as I had some bump steer as well. Bumps steer is now nil. Pretty happy with the layout...I don't quite have "full" travel as the driveshafts could swing a bit more, but I'm happy with where it is.

Extension

Compressed

Got the dremel out and notched out for the rear lower links. Mounted in the same locations, but direct to the skid plate.

Rear suspension and driveline installed. I used a GPM shaft for the driveshaft I had left over from a CR01 - I expect this to fail sooner rather than later, but it's what I had. I'll swap it over to a TRX shaft eventually. A set of Revo pushrods were the perfect length for the lowers.

Rear shocks are mounted with a set of SCX shock hoops mounted through the chassis with some aluminum standoffs for strength. I'll use a top tie bar to keep flex to a minimum.

This is where I was really stuck. Eventually, I came up with an L Bracket mounted across the top screws for the upper link mounts and tucked in some 93mm shocks. If I want a little more stand-up/taller shocks later, I can fab a larger tower and bolt it to the smaller one so it's a pretty versatile set-up. Feels perfect right where it is though, and supports the suspension through the full range of travel currently available.

Finally standing on its own!! Using a set of old school 2.2 moabs for now, very subject to change.

Have to fine tune the camber yet..upper links will eventually get some reinforcements.

Ground clearance is pretty good for a CC chassis... 55mm under the front skid and about 70mm in the middle with a nice smooth underbelly.

Pretty decent steering as well, clearancing the chassis was a must, and can now go a bit larger on the tires.

Mandatory flex shot, getting about 4.75 inches under the tires....not bad, really not looking for more

Much more to do, stay tuned.

Just like any platform, with a bit of work it can be whatever you want it to be.

Sick project! You've really completely transformed this vehicle!

On the first page you have the Jeep sitting on white wagon wheels. Are they 1.55's or 1.9's? They look to be 1.55's and they look great.

I didn't notice that. I don't get that picky on details. I really, really like the way 1.55's look on the Jeep. I think they look better than 1.9's so I may have to pick a set up. Thanks.

Two more CC's are ready to go. 3 built, 1 in progress, and 1.5 to go.

Pajero - probably by favorite shell on the CC chassis. More go than show.

FJ - more show than go.

Built from pieces left over from the others, didn't feel like mucking about with magnets so it's pin mounted, Had to fab some mounts though.

FJ is running a 65t motor, though it's just too fast for me. Don't like how the normal GRU's push the motor into the battery tray, so ordered some stuff and I'll have a go at making my own. Just waiting on parts.

Great little rigs. Ran the jero for 2+ hours on a trail run and went pretty much anywhere I wanted to go. If you like to make mods, can't go wrong with these little guys.
