I'm pretty happy with my cheap 55t motor (Low Bucks Racing) and a used Tekin FXR. Good low speed control and still able to kick up some little rooster tails.

Yep for trail running and crawling you can't beat a good ol' axial 55t. They cost around 20$. As for esc the ae2 that axial has is great, it is a rebranded castle esc and can be programed with a castle link. Those two can be had for well under 100

x2 for the CC speed controller, being able to program it with drag brake, lipo cut offs, motor type and power control, all with the click of a mouse
is just great and dead easy to use.Personally i use a piece of crap esc that i found in my junk box covered in silicone for water crossings but
the Castle Creations stuff is about the best you can get imo.

Dig around looking for mods on the net,for me,modifying the front "C" hub things with a grinder (or the control arms) to get more
downtravel in the front made a big difference.I would replace the rear links too,at least the bottom ones.Buy a bearins set
for your CC01,makes a ton of difference. Also i would buy the gpm steering kit,put it together with blue loctite and tighten
it down pretty good.I would get a stronger servo too,you don't need a mammoth thing, just something with metal gears
and a bit more grunt.

Another massive thing i found (probably because i'm running a cheap esc) is i needed more power for the servo.Find yourself
a BEC.Either way they are a good thing to have and gives you much better steering response. You can make a bec with
a cheap one online for a few bucks and some connectors and some wire.It will go between your battery and esc then plug
into your receiver where is says battery delivering 5V straight into the system.

I would also consider a 3ghz system as well for range and to help with any glitching.

I'm a cheap ass so these mods aren't expensive to do.For the radio gear i got a dirt cheap Chinese
$15 dollar unit (or $30,can't remember) and it works just fine.

Good luck,Happy wheeling.

Nice! I'm currently working on building a CC-01 Jeep Wrangler.

Are those Integy wheels?

And is that a CR-01 in the back?

Topcad = Integy. Same stuff. Nice wheels for the price for sure.

Agreed, simple 55/65t motor + AE2 will do the trick. Great set-up for the CC chassis.

Castle Creations SV3 Esc and a Novak Rock Star 55T motor? I reckon that'd be good......

On my CC01 Pajero I run a cheap $15 esc off ebay and an axial 55t and am very happy with it. Great looking Jeep.
