Default PL Hyrax stock foams or CI foams?

I was looking into getting new foams that are better for crawling but Im not sure what to do. Proline sells a crawler foam, and crawler innovations seems to be the big name in the game.

Are my hyrax tires going to perform markedly better with CI foams or the crawler PL foams? Is it marginal? Should I spend the 26$ on something else for crawlability?

So no real reason to go with the crawler style dual foams then?

I'm talking about the dual stage prolines vs dual stage CI foams. Not sure what you're thinking of...

He's talking about WRT the stock foams that come with the tires I think.

The proline hyrax tires come with a one piece foam.

In my experience if you ask 10 people about tire/foam choice, you will get 10 different responses. That’s not a bad thing, but it’s enough to make your head spin. There are other things to take into account like truck weight, terrain, and how you drive it, and or what you expect it to perform like. Being fairly new to crawling I asked the advice of a long time user of the same brand/model rig I own. They recommended single stage closed cell foams either CI or the newer blue Prolines. So that’s what I’ve been running on my two Ascenders, and I really like them. Most people when they squeeze my tires, all say they feel stiff. But it’s been working for me and how I use them. In the end, IMO I think your best to do what I did and ask someone who has the same rig as you, or just experiment for yourself. I have yet to use any foams that came with tires I’ve bought, that’s not to say they may or may not work just fine.

ProLine foams for ProLine tires. CI for everything else.

So you're asking which dual stage foam to go with and if they will make a difference, correct?

I'm with Jato, Proline with Proline.

Also if there are any that are fully waterproof, as in not damaged by water, that would be a big plus as where I run a lot is rocks on the coast of a lake.

I have the Proline Hyrax with the Proline Dual stage foams. (1.9 and the 2.2 versions) They fit and work well together.

do you mean the 1.9 tires and the 2.2 foams? Or sets of each?

CI's single stage inserts are waterproof (closed cell foam)... but also stiffer and meant for higher speed stuff.

I only run dry rocks. The inner closed cell foam should last a long time. When the outer foam degrades, I would imagine you could probably cut up some stock foam to wrap around the closed cell foam.

I am running the hyrax tires on my almost 15lb wraith its running the stock foams i feel they are to soft for my rig i was running closed cell.foams in the old tires and i realy liked them i wish they fit in the hyrax but they dont and i havent found any more material to make new ones and cant realy aford new foams my old tires worked alot better with closed cell.foams i would imagine the hyrax would.work better with stiffer foams also my biggest issues are when climbing up hill on steep rocks and sidehilling also turning at speed the foams role over i feel the closed.cell foams would help alot on my rig but my rig is very heavy a lighter rig would be totaly differant

My rig clocks in at abut 7.5 lbs. I have issues side hilling for sure, the foams are probably too stiff.
