| C.I. foam question
If I need to go into more detail just let me know, I want to keep this short though. I have a 7.6lb trx4 and a 5lb capra. Both on 1.9 hyrax predator. I have 4.5 firm and med outer foams already that lived on my trx4 for the past 8 months. I know the foams are pretty tired, but I do need a second set looking at 4.75 with soft outer for either the Capra or trx4. Not sure yet but I do like the 4.5 firm foams for the Capra. What should I expect if I throw the 4.75s on either rig? Is it just a difference in sidewall? Will it hurt either rig? |

I run 4.5" soft front standard inner and 4.5" medium comp cut in the rear with 4.7 predator krawlers. They are exceptional with a softer foam.

I don't like the medium foam. I have a little rock garden in my backyard. I'ts not permanent, the rocks have a lot of little spots to get tires bind up. I prefer the firm foams for this reason, even though at first they may be too stiff.

Harder foams are fine on a heavier rig like the trx4 but the lighter capra needs softer foams to let the tires conform to the terrain so the tires can perform correctly. You can do whatever you want but everything I do is to maximize performance.

Just bought a new set of tires to try out. The old foams are beat to crap. I'll be getting the 4.75 size foams, probably in the medium outer. Only reason is they may last a bit longer and keep the sidewall from collapsing so much. Bought the proline Trenchers, see how these turn out. |

What wheels are you running specifically are they wide or narrow? I run the Traxxas Canyon Trail tires on VP 1.9 Method 105 beadlock wheels which are 1" wide and I have found the CI 4.5 WIDE medium foams work really well on my TRX4 pretty much exclusively driven on rocks.
