I stumbled across this today. Did a search here but didn't see it mentioned. I know a lot of people have mentioned free software so I thought I'd pass this along......haven't tried it yet but here is the link if interested. http://doublecad.com/Products/Double...0/Default.aspx |

I have Rhino3D (bought v3 and now having v4) and later bought Fryrender (i'm more than happy with these), from time to time i'm making renderings in demo version of AIR. Also used SolidWorks, at work. |

So when i was student i bought Edu version, when v4 came up i bought commercial upgrade. P.S.2. Rhino is not a parametric mechanical cad software, so it can't be compared to Inventor or SolidWorks, but it can do everything. | |

...The school I'll (hopefully) be attending in the fall has one of the probe-based 3d scanners and one of those 3d printers. They are frickin' amazing. I'm totally effin' excited. |

We don't have the scanner, but we have that same printer here at work. Someone is always printing something on it, but every once in awhile I can get stuff onto it......like one of our engineers heads. I have a larger version of this as my tap handle at home |

We have that printer and that scanner. Awesome stuff and been around that stuff for 3 years now. Oh and the scanner doesnt scan that fast. It take several scans and then you put them all together.

| I'd be really interested in seeing a file produced on that scanner......maybe a tire or something. Got anything like that?

I like how you can see how scratched up your rims are and the dirt still on you tire.

I am sure this has been asked somewhere in this thread but I really have not read the last 65 PAGES!!!! I am looking for a free CAD program on the internet that i can download. Anyone have any ideas for one that is easy to use? I am looking to get started on a few things. I dont know really anything about CAD but would love to learn. Thanks!!!

what can i tell you did you checked with do they offer and how? i think you can read, isn't it? easy of use? it is not a notepad or MS Paint. There is no button like: do me a 2.2 crawler Download, install and try it. Did you draw 3D or 2D CAD related things before? |
