The input voltage is 240 ac
Colors are colors, they have nothing to do with voltage.

If it says 240VAC input, then that's what it needs. A lot of time it would be hot on the brown & blue to get 240VAC.

So get the correct input voltage, or get a 220VAC line (most homes have the ability for 220VAC single phase power.)

Anyway to convert this down to 110v?

Maybe, not likely.

Larger equipment has a transformer that can be "re-tapped" meaning, use different connections on the line side of the transformer.

Likely what you have can't be retapped, it would need a new power supply, which is most of the cost of the unit.

I guess you could use a buck/boost transformer, but is likely a couple hundred $$, way more than the unit costs new.

Second I tried 6 different style Hakko tips and none would work. I'm stuck with the little pin point tip it came with. Yes this is the Aiuha 936 or how ever the hell you say that word. It came from the hobby king hong kong warehouse. It's being shipped back today and a new hakko 888 is on the way.

ok your in Kentucky.. you should set yourself to USA...
i ordered mine.. i got worried...
so i went and pulled my order up as it is on its way..
and in my order it pointed me back to this one..

Soldering Station with Adjustable Heat Range (USA Warehouse)

Specs Power Supply:
Power Consumption: 60W
Input Voltage: 110v
Output Voltage: 24v AC

and if you look at the pic.. it shows the 120v plug..
phew i should be ok...
will need to get a wider tip too.. dont want to grind this one down..

A gun is fine for large connections (ESC power, motor connections, battery plugs, etc.) but sucks for smaller stuff.

A smaller tip is much better for smaller connections. The station I bought was inexpensive (sorta) and has been working well. Better than my "single heat" pencil.

I love my Hakko, but my buds don't want to spend the money on one and this looks just like the Hakko. Do the Hakko tips fit it ?

I would tell them to spend the extra $ and know exactly what they are getting and know that consumables should be available for a long time.

agree with you 100% when money is not scarce...

long story i know..
when i met my now wife.. we got an apartment.. i grew up on name brand stuff...
my wife went shopping ... i came home to a cubbard of white boxes with a blue band.. said ... NO FRILLS... i was like WTF...

yes she is right... frosted flakes were the same thing.. mac and cheese was the same thing.. chereos were the same thing..

but I LIKE NAME BRAND.. and spend more for it... but in times like then.. i dealt with it...

so I am cheap ... but buy great stuff when i can get a deal....

i say hakko if u must... or knockoff for now.... try a knockoff if you dont solder much... if it dies.. up to you on buying another knockoff or name brand....

I agree, my fridge is full of walmart brand everything (except ranch and cheap beer, a man has to draw a line somewhere). But when it comes to tools, you get what you pay for. I have not used the knock off, but I did buy a knock off from harbor freight a few years back. It looked the part, but did not produce. BUT, I think people have been happy with this one. I picked my hakko up on sale for $66 locally, so for the extra money I had it today.

FYI - I went to the link in the first post and a message on the side of the screen said something buying it for $14. I it the buy now and it took me to my cart and viola. I didn't buy it but wish I would have. It's not letting me get it for that price now. I didnt buy it because of the $15 shipping and it's on back order.
