I use my hands. I have two other benders that just sit on a nail on the wall. I have more control over it than with the benders. tube or solid same results. |

Just be careful , cause some of these benders might bend TUBING but not solid steel stock. Or vice versa. ;)

Kind of an old topic but I was looking for info on tube benders and came across this topic so I thought I would post up. Here's what I've started using and so far it works great: Here's a sample of the bends I can get without kinking: |

I used to use spring benders doing underground gas or water new construction to get into area where normal benders would not have the room to fit well. we usally work with 1/2" or bigger copper though but luckily thanks to Micromark I was able to find these mini benders beleive I paid 5 bucks. only one is really useable if your using 3/16". you get beautiful kink free bends. They also make it a little easier to bend. |

Saw a post a few months back with something similar so I decided to build one of my own: 3/8" bend radius, it will do both 3/16" and 1/4" rod/tube. It works great but will kink thin wall tubing if you arn't careful. |

this one pretty nice looking from summit. These Summit triple head 180 degree tube benders can bend 3/16 in., 1/4 in., 5/16 in., and 3/8 in. o.d. tubing up to 180 degrees with ease. The Roto-Lok indexing lever repositions the two-stage handle midway through the bend, right when both handles begin to meet, so you get tight bends without having to cross the handles. They're made from lightweight cast aluminum with comfortable cushioned grips, are compact to fit into tight areas, and have calibrated markings for accurate left hand, right hand, and offset bends. |

| Well you put straight tubing in one end and out the the other end comes bent tubing... Seriously though I have had alot of requests about this bender since I posted this last night. I'm thinking of making a new bender thread showing the design deatails and how to make and use it, keep an eye open for it! |

You can also find them cheaper. Do a search for "Spring type bender" These will NOT kink your tubing. | |
