| Shapeways HP Multi Jet Fusion Printer is coming!
I've just been asked to sign up for testing with this groundbreaking new 3D printer at Shapeways (see link below). I'm really excited about this development, i think it could be a game changer for RC printed parts. Think stronger parts, better finish, faster, cheaper, full colour. The next year is going to be really interesting! https://www.shapeways.com/blog/archi...gn=20170426-HP |

I don't know sh1t about 3D printers but it reads good. Should be able to do bumpers and whatnot for Bombers, Wraiths, and like 'tube' chassis.

3D printers have changed the game ALREADY...... This is another HP scam to empty your wallet. I remember the same hype about the deskjets !! Cheap and fast ! Until you had to buy ink, then it got real and expensive. Lemme guess a proprietary size (patented) of filament that only HP sells... Good Luck , I hope I'm wrong. Hang up and Drive |

I understand and seems like a winner..... With HP involved I just have a bad taste. Now if you start to tell me it's a 5 axis that can do metal or abs without an enclosure I'm impressed.... I really love the technology, but don't like the players Hang up and Drive |

Hey all! So cool to see such enthusiasm in this forum thread! My name is Ruud and I'm the EU Community Manager at Shapeways. The past months I've been working hard in exploring the RC car world with our RC Customization Series and on the background working with HP. We've been printing for some time with the machine and tested some RC car parts on it too. They are definitely a lot stiffer than normal RC car parts or SLS printed ones, allowing the suspensions of your car to do their work rather than the body. It really depends on what kind of performance enhancements you're looking for though. Please keep me updated on your progress when you get added to the pilot, can't wait to hear your experiences! Also note, the machine doesn't use any filaments or FDM technology, but printing of (currently) nylon powder. This allows much more complex, interlocking geometries, so get your designs going! Cheers, Ruud Last edited by RudyLime; 04-28-2017 at 09:25 AM. |

In 2014 some patents related to 3d SLS printing expired. From then on, a lot of companies have started building commercial 3d printers. That will make 3d printing competitive and cost effective for the end user. 3D printing will grow rapidly.

These 3D printers are huge steps above the FDM technology home printers that are currently being sold. You don't get any of the visible layers most people associated with 3D printing. Most people give 3D printing a bad rap because of companies producing crappy 3D printed parts with huge, visible layers. Stop buying 3D printed parts from shitty companies. Remember, companies that proclaim themselves the best or the king are usually compensating for something. I have a cheap, FDM printer at home and I can make better parts than most 3D printed companies are offering because I have an idea of what I'm doing and I don't print with huge layers at high speeds in order to try to rush parts out. |

I had the 'go ahead' from shapeways today to print some stuff on the HP MJF. I'm not sure what to try first. Maybe one of my Twin Hammers bell crank setups.... or maybe something more detail hungry.... Exciting! |

| Re: Shapeways HP Multi Jet Fusion Printer is coming! FDM is still an older, inferior technology compared to the newer printer technologies.
