Default Summits low voltage

My summits esc is solid green when I first start it but after a few minutes of running it it drastically loses speed and power and the esc light turns red. I'm wondering if this isn't battery issue. Anyone have similar experience? Thanks

It's the lipo cut off protection mode, if you are running Nimh battery's you need to program the esc from lipo to Nimh. Good luck

If you run your lipos down to far it will damage the lipos. You may have done this. Try another set of lipos and see if this is true.

The Summit's ESC is notorious for causing issues with the LVC. Sometimes it runs Lipos down to low and then if the lipos are weak / old any voltage drop will cause the LVC to cut in too early.

You can buy a voltage tester for lipos that also warns you when voltage is low. it shows you each cell and combined. The buzzer is loud so is can be handy to have.

I'm worried that the trucks are damaged. But since it's happening in both I'm assuming it's the batteries. I ordered new batteries

The bright side is you found the problem. Order one of these:

Could be your charger too. Check the battery voltage fresh off a charge. 2 cell lipos should be around 8.4 volts. 3 cell would be 12.6.
