Default Lipo battery

I’ve got a sport coming in the mail and was wondering what brand and size of batteries you guys are running in these trucks. I’ve been out for awhile so don’t know what is working these days and I can’t seem to find much current info on it. Thanks

I have regular trx-4 defender but I get 80 mins out of 3s 2200 25-35c turnigy also get 90-100 mins out of my turnigy 2650mah 25-50c nano. Just solder a more common connector to your esc. My opinion buy a hobby wing 1080 ESC, stronger servo, axle weight.. good luck look forward to seeing your rig

If you're going to stick with xl5 esc then you'll be limited to [overpriced] Traxxas batteries assuming you don't wish to use an adapter. I use a variety of lipos... Zippy 2700 3S, Turnigy 4000 2S, and Traxxas 5000 3S. Since the charger plays a part in the equation, I'd get a good quality lipo charger and whatever lipo fits your specs in terms of acceptable run-time, price, size, etc. FWIW... I got rid of the Traxxas battery hold-down and am using straps so that the size ( length and height) isn't an issue.

What he said.

I like Gens Ace Batteries, I have about a dozen of them in 2,3,and 4s

Also depends on how many cells you want to run 2 or 3, I have a few of each batteries that I linked below.

All you need to do is solder on your choice of connectors, those come with both XT60 and Deans....I'd recommend the XT60 (yellow) connector.

Gens Ace 2S 50c 5000mAh

Gens Ace 3s 50c 5000mAh

As for a charger I recommend the ProTek RC Prodigy 680 Touch AC/DC Battery Charger and a XT60 Charge Lead

I should have mentioned I’ll probably go 3s, I already have a venom charger and a Hitec that charges 4 at a time. I will probably stick with the stock esc for a bit but I have no problem changing connectors, currently I have deans on everything but it appears a lot of people are switching to an xt60 so I’ll look at that too. I already got a servo knowing the rtr ones never last long or aren’t very good to start with and I got a bec to go with it. I will probably look into the LCG battery tray also. I’ll look at the batteries mentioned, thanks for the input.
