| Fricker08’s trx4 take 2
Well I wasn’t looking for another project.. I was hoping to free up some cash by selling my 10.2 to fund another build.. when I was approached for a trade. So here we are, trx4 sport Chopped frame to fit the sumo body Yeah racing metal axle housings Vanquish roost 1.9’s w/ some irocks Some brass parts throughout Savox 1210sg Holmes trailmaster 540 35t Hexfly esc Overdrive up front underdrive out back Proline proscaler shocks Not super clean but no where near as bad as the last one. Everything seems to spin smooth and shows signs of being maintained with some fresh grease. But the parts alone add up to about what I had in my 10.2 Got her pretty much blown apart with some parts in the mail. I may end up hanging on to this one or it may find it’s way in the classifieds not really sure yet. Either way looking forward to resurrecting another trx4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That’s great! Really like the short body/chopped rear and how that allows the tires to contact obstacles first. ETA - So just the frame has been shortened to fit the sumo body correct? The wheel base is still the stock sport 12.3? Thanks! Last edited by Benp; 10-14-2020 at 11:05 AM. |

Thanks man, it’s definitely different and that’s the main reason I decided to trade. When I got it, a previous owner had done some really weird 4 link up front and changed the wheelbase to like 12.7” I’ve got some stock sport links coming and I’ll be converting it back to 12.3 so stay tuned and I’ll let you know how it works out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Since it’s chopped are you going to keep the Sumo body, or get a different one? It’s definitely got a lot of parts on it Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I would have never thought to use that body on a trx4, but I actually quite like it. Interested to see what you with it.

Yea me either, and not that I would have ever bought the body on my own but I think I can spice the thing up a little bit. Pretty much all my orders have been delayed and I’m out in Idaho for the weekend. So hopefully I’ll have some updates for you guys middle of next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice find and grab Fricker! Looks like a cool build and a good spot to build off of since you have some aftermarket parts already on hand. I dig the Sami look too, don’t see many of those these days. |

Thanks Topher, I enjoy working on these things more than driving sometimes ha I could have scabbed it together but figured to just do it right again. All the gears and bearings look good/spin smooth. Greased everything up and re-assembled. Started assembly of the skid links and axles. Going to paint the frame rails tomorrow and begin full assembly. I think it’s going to work out nicely at the original sport wheel base. Also going to make some rear shock towers out of some 1/8 aluminum plate. Think I’m going to swap the stock Capra shocks onto this and run the prolines on my lcg build. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well here we go, cleaned up, greased up and assembled. Changed things up a little. Capra shocks added some actual body mounts. Saving the wheels n shocks for another project. But with stock sport shock towers impressed with the articulation. Kind of a goofy looking rig but looking forward to running it. Also tinted the windows lol anyone curious about that, headlight smoke vinyl.. comes light to dark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks guys, it was a pretty straight forward rebuild. The shock towers would poke through but I had to change up the rear body mount so I didn’t have to punch more holes in the body. I was looking forward to taking it out soon, but my buddy is looking for a rig for his girlfriend sooo this ones headed to a new home. Which is fine because I’ll get to drive it at some point. Gonna focus my efforts on another lcg build Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
