OK, I finished this thread thus far, but I was wondering, did you use the stock hex's. I opted for VP hexs, but they don't fit all the way down the output. Theres a small gap between the inner face of the VP hex's, and outer most bearing of the axles.

This is what I used:
VP 12mm hex (black)
VP .350 SLWs (black)
TSS rockmonster internal beadlocks (black)
Pitbull 1.9 growlers/C.I closed cells

Is there a bushing or something that axials have in that spot?

No bushing, likely just a different dimension from the pin through hole to the bearing race.

Shim it, Kyosho and Yokomo both make very nice shims in steel different diamters and thickness, also in black plastic. Metal is better imo, but I use both, just buy a pack of every size that fits all the bearings and shafts in your trucks, I use them on every build. Traxxas black plastic shims work too but they are much more limited on size and thickness.

Yes, shim it.

Got a pic? I just re-read this and think I mis-understood.

Alexander_0_1, pics please of the problem you're describing, might just need to drill out the wheel hex so it's same size all the way through. Call/email VP and they should take care of you with replacement that is properly machined.

@Harley, updates for this build?

I'll get back on this thing, just have been swamped lately. A project that I've been working on for 2-3 years is coming to an end and I am spending a lot of time at work making sure everything has been properly QA/QC'd!

I do want to get this thing finished of course.

Still on the shelf, still planning on finishing it. Although I already have some things I want to change. I am in the middle of selling my house (it's under contract, closing in about 45 days) and then relocating the whole operation to a new (much nicer) facility. So once I get that done, I'll get back into projects more.
