| What batteries are you running?
What batteries are people running with the stock battery tray? My LHS does not have any short batteries in stock and I am looking what I could order for when my esc shows up. I know it depends on gear etc but what kind of run times are you seeing on those batteries as well? This is my first real electric build and I am not sure what to expect or what size of battery to look at getting. Thanks for sharing. |

Running a 7.2v 5000mah and am getting 2hours run time and plenty of crawl power, even after doing laps chasing the dogs, I still can easily climb verticals and such.

I've been using trak powers saddle packs in the 7.4v 5400mah 65c 130burst. I have the two saddles stacked up and placed a small high density foam block under the overhang and taped it up to keep it as one piece. It works awesomely, and my run times are over 4hrs easy. And the powers solid. The C.O.G is not hurt it seems, and still handles very well. Love the battery choice I did.

ZIPPY Compact 2200mAh 3S 25C Lipo Pack...from hobbyking, but ordered through amazon. Basically same as the turnigy I think. $12.64 plus shipping. Great runtime on stock electronics except hi torque servo. Have to solder on deans, but not a big deal.

Thanks for all the replies. My LHS doesn't carry most of those but I will see what they have that is comparable. I am still waiting for my ae5 esc to come in. Have a 27T motor as per the LHS suggestion and a savox servo (forget which one although it is a waterproof one). Already picked up an external BEC and think an hour or two of run time sounds pertty good. More than likely I will break things before that time is up until i learn how to properly drive it. Looking forward to getting it finished and all together. Then the customization begins. |

If you stack 2 pack the size of the ones in the 1/16 traxxas, it fits perfect.... I run 2x Turnigy 2200mAh TRA2820 in mine with a parallel adapter... more capacity and cheaper than a shorty race pack!
