Default Pulled the Trigger on an Ascender!

Long time Lurker, first time buyer. I almost pulled the trigger on the Axial Jeep when it came out. I guess my pratical side got the best of me, I never bought one. I currently have a '74 K5 Blazer that I have all done up as a Crawler. one ton axles.40"tires, super flexy suspension, yadda yadda yadda.

When I heard the rumbling about the scale K5 being built, I was hooked. I picked it up today at the local Hobby Shop. Just your normal RTR. Gonna be a shelf queen for a little bit. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Well I picked it up Wednesday. Made a spot for it on the work shelf.

Been looking all over the forum looking for tweaks and tricks. I am not super impressed with the stock paint job. lots of under tape paint leaching all over the place. The red paint doesn't even go to the top of the "doors". Anyway, I am going to do my best to disguise it. I painted the "removable top" part flat black, lowered and trimmed the body to make for a better fit. I blacked out the chrome using the "Castrol Super clean trick" worked really well. I like the looks of teh truck much better! I have been super happy with the performance! It's so smooth and slinky.
I ma getitng a big push from a few of the local guys to make it HUGE! I am really kinda digging he scale look right now.
