Default motor gasket question

Hello,
I am putting in a HH motor, do I want to use the gasket from the stock motor for the HH?
Thanks

I'm not sure if its a heat transfer gasket, keep the dust out, or help hold the motor in place gasket. Mine is RTR and I see the gasket in there and in exploded view, but havn'et had the motor out yet. I've never run anything like it on any of my other RC ever, you should be fine with or without it as long as motor mount screws are not too long/short, hitting magnets inside the can etc.

Yea, when I built mine I thought the same thing. I have no idea why it comes with that gasket

Tamiya has used a sort of ceramic gasket thing forever.

Pretty sure it was used as an insulator to keep their hot motors off the motor mount area. Or a spacer.

ive never personally had a heat problem with my brushed motor but maybe its meant more for brushless motors? Im curious if the RTR's have them pre installed with the brushed motor or if its just in the parts book

I think it's more to seal the remaining holes on the motor, to better waterproof the motor...

I know it helped my ROC.

IIRC they did use a silicone like heat transfer gasket on some of thier cars that actually had aluminum motorplates instead of the old bolt the motor to a plastic gearbox lol. Of course maybe it was a heat insulator gasket to keep the hot motor from melting the plastic gearbox.

My RTR came with the gasket installed and I left it there for now.
