I sent you a PM Desmo, so we don't clog up Terry's build thread.

Spent half the day working on the porch pile. Gave up on it about 45 minutes ago. Was able to transpose an old section from the smaller pile as it was being disassembled . Figgered this was easier than completely redesigning the thing. Tried that the other day and only succeeded in wearing myself out moving rocks around. Well, I wore myself out moving rocks again! Some of these rocks are HEAVY! Happy to have at least made some progress on it this time.

Terry, sounds like your just having to much fun moving your rock piles around.

I do enjoy it. But it's hard on a 64 y/o couch potato! Need to go ride the bikes some but it's been so dayum hot and humid. Had to wring out my jeans twice 'cause they kept gittin' HEAVY.

Each of these rocks is carefully positioned, leaned against one another and 'shimmed/braced' with pieces of broken cinder block or brick under it so that it can be stood/walked on without it moving. Also managed to extend the lattice 'screen guard' all the way across the front of the porch, 'cause the pile is going to be all the way across it. Haven't run a truck thru the screen yet.

The section 'transposed' and facing the opposite direction, is the one this McRC is on.

New body for the Ascender. A 1951 Chebby 5 window! Not properly trimmed and mounted yet though.

USPS Tracking indicates there will be a package from the Northwest for me to pick up in the morning! Wonder what it could be. More later.

Got a new truck today! Well, crawls like a new one anyway. Looked at wheels and hubs on the 'puter 'til my eyes crossed and got a headache trying to find a 1.9 setup that would work with the new custom weighted axle with CODYBOY Steering and not cost an arm and a leg. Ended up just changing the hubs on an old pair of VP 2.2 wheels, stretched the 1.9 IROKs on (as Ernie suggested) and tested 'em on the otherwise stock Ascender.

The heavier (than stock) wheels with the wider/softer/deeper tread of the IROKs added a new dimension to the performance of this little truck. This plus the ability to put some rubber against a rock by leaving the bumper off, made it feel like I was driving a different truck! Spent a hour drivin' and smilin' on the, in transition, Porch Pile. Gonna take it out to the Big Rubble Pile tomorrow, if it doesn't rain.

Will install the new super-axle soon. Want to try to find a new set of wheels though. I like the look of the rc4wd Wagon Wheels but not sure if a wide enough hub can be fitted to clear the knuckle weights.

Love the old 51 Chevy body, that's wb2 same as K10 correct?

You'll love the Codyboy axle weight down low too!

"Love the old 51 Chevy body, that's wb2 same as K10 correct?"

Yes. The body is a caricature of the '47 to '54 Chevy 5 window with a few departures from exact scale representation. The hardest part of finding a body is getting the wheelbase info!

The 'new' tires were noticeably grippier on the Big Rubble Pile's concrete and asphalt. Are no improvement in the sandy gravel though.

Ordered some 1.9 wheels and hubs. Need to order some foams too.

Okay fellers. I'm gonna need some tips on mounting tires on these 3 piece bead lock wheels. Must not be using the right cuss words.

What specific, tires, wheels and foams exactly. They can be a real pita, I still don't enjoy it, but am much better and faster at it than I used to be.

Okay got one done the 'bubba way'. Only gonna do one more today.

They are 1.9 RC4WD Wagon Wheels and RC4WD IROKs with some old medium heavy 2.2 sponge foams. Only foams I had that would fill up their volume. Gonna order some but wanted to run 'em some. And practice mounting, etc.

Just found the 2 longer bolts in the back of the package!

These IROKs grip better on the hard surfaces than the stock tires. With all 4 of them, even better than only having them on front.

Mounted the other 2 IROKS on the ww's and put 'em on the otherwise stock Ascender. Looks better with matching wheels.

Still gotta get some hubs that'll clear the k-weights before installing the Codyboy Steering axle. Ain't figgered the correct offset. Mathematically challenged? Got numbers, just don't trust 'em.

IROKs performed very well on the Rubble Pile today. The weeds are dying off and more of the pile is becoming visible/runnable. Got some pics of the new wheels.

This truck is getting pretty well scuffed and scratched up. Gonna start thinking about getting another one. Or maybe just finish the SCX 10 chassis that has been sitting in a box for a coupla years with all the upgrade parts inclucing: od/ud gears, VP Cs and knucks, beef tubes, K-weights and u-joints, various shock sets, spare trannies, etc. Was intended to be my breakaway from the Losi Comp Crawlers.

Really need a bench before starting a build though. Hard to do much with a 1/10 on a TV dinner table. Drew up a plan and bill of materials for a 5' x 2' x 30" one a coupla weeks ago.
